Porter dates from the 1720's and is the predecessor to Stout. Ours is a Robust Porter with plenty of body and a deep garnet, almost black color. It is slightly sweet with chocolate & coffee aromas and a slight toffee/molasses finish. Hop and roasted grain flavors are present, but unlike Stout, the Porter profile is balanced with no single dominating component. We use 7 grains and only the finest English Fuggles hops to brew Blackbird Porter

One of the best brews that 5 Seasons has ever produced, if not their all-time best! It pours a rich, opaque sable with a thick, light tan head. Aroma is malty with a smoky undertone and a hint of coffee. Flavor is rich with undertone of burnt coffee, a peaty hint, and a touch of fruity sweetness. This porter is smooth and scrumptuous. I heartily recommend it to all my fellow stout and porter lovers.

Nice tasty, creamy porter. Very black, nice creamy tan head. Low bitterness and hopping, but nice complex malts. It's not as heavy and as rich as a stout, but manages to keep the malts big enough to avoid falling into bland porterland.

The aroma is very fine and offers roasted coffee bean and some smokey malts with maybe some bitter chocolate. The appearance is a coal black but a nice dark burgundy to mahogany in color when held to the light with a nice tan head on top that only discipates slightly leaving nice lacing on the glass. The mouthfeel is full-bodied and smooth, almost velvety, and is creamy with a very nice pallet that coats very well. The flavor is of chocolate, coffee, and smoke which is very malty and bitter but very smooth with a nice aftertaste that is somewhat bitter but very smooth with a nice robust finish that is warming. Overall, this is a fine porter with very nice balance and is smooth and pleasing to experience.

A nice bier here. A dark black apperance with a poofy head. This has a little more kick than your average porter. The flavor is chocolate, coffee, dark fruit, and roasted malts. A creamy mouthfeel. 5 Seasons just rocks and I'm sorry I once doubted this brewery!
