Why does the world need another IPA? Because this one ain't like them others. We use hops of a different color, earthy and herbal, well-balanced by bready malt. The result? An English-style IPA that separates itself from the ubiquitous bunch. Cartloads of bitter monkeys flinging wasteful amounts of bananas into the jungle . . .we're so done with that.

On tap at Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Hazy deep golden to orange colour, large to moderate white head. Strong sweetish aroma and flavour of crystal malts + fruity and piney American hops, notes of oranges. A quite good IPA.

Pours a pretty clear amber with a fine bubbled off-white head. Aroma is not strong but hoppy and inviting. Flavor is strongly hoppy and fairly but not overly bitter and has whispers of citrus and sweetness. Texture is rough, lively and sassy, leaving a tingly and hoppy finish.

Bright orange amber pour, bubbly white head, nice lacing, decent carbonation. Nice balanced aroma with caramel sweet malts meeting pine and light citrus and earthy hops. Taste is bitter enough still very malty and lightly caramel sweet from the ample malts. Nice small linger. Very drinkable English IPA.

It pours a bright golden with a thick white head and copious lacing. A rich aroma of caramel malts, hops, pine, orange and citrus, grapefruit, pineapple, bitterness, and spiciness. The mouthfeel is smooth, thick, and rich. Flavors of caramel malts, hops, grapefruit and citrus, nuttiness, bitterness, and spiciness. Very good .. has a flavor I can't put my finger on .. ginger maybe ..

A 400lb monkey is half an 800 lb gorilla, and similarly, this is only half as good as it could be. At best, this could be considered an average IPA...at best. A light orange gold pour with sweet malt, citrus, and light fruits making up the aroma. The flavour is balanced between the malt and hops, but nothing jumps out and makes you say 'wow!'

Nice brew. A gift from my buddy brando. Pours a clear orange amber. little head. aroma is tropical. pineapple, orange and hops on the nose. Taste is slightly bitter, but mainly citrus and firm astringent hop notes.

Bottled@The Chriso Rock The Roof Down pre-GBBF shindig. Golden colour, small white head. Aroma is caramel malts, some slight syrupy sweetness as well as a bunch of fruity and floral hops. Flavour is fruits, wood, caramel malts, some mild burnt sugary sweetness as well as some mild bread and earthyness.

This beer was not what I expected. I was looking for a pretty hoppy American IPA, this was a smooth and balanced English IPA. Not my favorite beer. It pours an orangish color and the aroma is pretty muted, the flavor is not bad but it does not have the bitterness that I have become used to in most American IPAs.

When you hear you are about to have a 7% ABV IPA you think oh here we go! Then you have it and go "ooooh ok?" Now if someone handed you this and said this is a 5.5% ABV APA you would go "Oh nice, good session beer" But with it being billed as an IPA I was let down a bit. This poured an orange color with a white head. The aroma is faint and contains citrus notes. The flavor is very smooth but not bitter. More malt than hops are present. Some oranges notes going on. There is a grassy undertone that is a little annoying. I’m not one for style ratings but as an IPA this gets lower points than it would if billed as an APA. This is no 400 lbs money but instead a 4 ounce money that sits on your dashboard. Overall this would be a good way to introduce someone to IPAs, but for the seasoned pro it is lacking.

Sampled on 9/19/2010. This IPA pours a medium yellow gold from a 12oz bottle. Small to medium sized white foamy head with nice lacing and good retention. The aroma is fruity and sweet, touch bready and floral. A medium bodied IPA, The malts are fruity and sweet. The hops are herbal and earthy. Some tea. Decent carbonation. A mild to medium bitterness IPA, although the hops tend to grow on you a little. Decent drinkability. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and crisp. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.
