The beer poured a black colour with a brown generous head that reduced itself in half in no time before sticking around. The aroma is smoked wood, roasted malt, licorice, and coffee. The mouthfeel was medium bodied with medium carbonation. The flavour is smoked pork, roasted malt, coffee, and some vanilla hints. The smoke flavour lingers in the mouth.Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 9

The beer poured a translucent medium gold with a generous white bubbly head which quickly dissipated. The aroma is sweet grainy malt, floral hops, and wet metal. The mouthfeel is weak to medium bodied with mild carbonation. The flavour is gross. Milk???? grass, and a weak bitter finish.Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7

The beer poured a solid reddish-brown with a short-lived dark brown bubbly head. The aroma is roasted malt, dark chocolate, and cranberries. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. The flavour is weak cranberries, roasted malt, and dark chocolate/cocoa. Alcohol is indeed well hidden.Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6

Part of the OCB Holiday 2010 Discover Pack. The beer poured a translucent dark gold colour with a very thin white ring for a head and mild effervescence. The aroma is grainy malts and not much else. The mouthfeel is watery and the carbonation is low. The flavour is grainy malt, slightly sweet, and acidic. Not impressed at all.Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6

The beer poured a translucent dark copper colour with a no head. The aroma is sweet malt, caramel, sugar, and hops. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. The flavour is sweet malt, dark fruit, and alcohol. Not one of the better Dieu du Ciel beers I've tried.Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8

I tried this beer on December 8, 2010 after purchasing from the RBC Plaza LCBO outlet. The beer pours a translucent red with a generous foamy tan head. The aroma is nutmeg, cinnamon, caramel malt, and some floral hops. The mouthfeel is medium bodied, with medium carbonation. The flavour is cinnamon, nutmeg, malt, and a bitter hop finish. The spices were very very evident in the taste. A nice winter warmer. A bit on the expensive side however!
