Part of the OCB Holiday 2010 Discover Pack. The beer poured a translucent dark gold colour with a very thin white ring for a head and mild effervescence. The aroma is grainy malts and not much else. The mouthfeel is watery and the carbonation is low. The flavour is grainy malt, slightly sweet, and acidic. Not impressed at all.

Another in a long line of Ontario craft lagers that are no better than the macro lagers they are hoping to replace. It's available in a Ontario Discovery Pack, possibly because it would be hard to sell it on its own!

Slightly cloudy, deep golden colour with a 1" white head that dissipated quickly. Watery, grassy taste, quite carbonated. A slightly bitter aftertaste...not a lot going on here, but not objectionable.

I had this beer about a month ago and I lost my notes, so now I'm trying again. It's a dichtomous beer. Out of the bottle it's kind of sweet, but full flavoured, while poured into a German style pilsner glass, it's the perfect blend of sweet and grassy, yet a tad watery. It has a very dry and grassy aroma, like a hayloft, or a freshly mown lawn. Might just be the only swill that is actually better out of the glass. The mouthfeel is practically non-existant. All in all, not bad, esp. for the price.

This is a beer company that contract brews this recipe...first it was coll brewing in Brampton and now it comes from Northern breweries in Sudbury. Their website advertises this as a "German style" beer with a good hop character at 5.9% ABV this is like a strong continental pilsner style. Poured a gold-bronze color with a 1 finger rocky white cap with better retenetion than the mega brewed Pilsners....goes to a lace and ring that stay a while . Seems fairly lively in the glass with fine carbonation. Nose is slight but hop pronounced with musty grain undertones. Starts a bit fizzy but the grainy malts are decernable under the carbonation peppering the tongue....nice blend (but mild) hop notes in the quick finish...slight grainy after taste. If they use corn to get this to 5.9%AVB it's not detectable...seems like an all malt lager (I could be wrong). However it is another lager that is not bad but nothing stands out about it....better than the local mega lagers but just barely.

This German style lager poured a nice light golden colour with a hue of orange. Too bad, not much head, retention, nor lacing. The scent was rather grainy malts. The taste started with sweet malts and had a dry grainy finish. This brew was light-bodied with good carbonation. Said to be brewed with Hersbrücker hops. Very refreshing lager, but too strong (5.9% alc-vol) for what it is.
