I tried this beer on March 5, 2008 at 'Jack Astors' in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The beer was a cloudy metallic gold in colour with a very white head. The aroma was citrusy in nature with some grainy malt. The mouthfeel was watery and medium carbonation was apparent. The taste was quite diluted with some citrusy tones and a little malt. Quite disappointing really.

The beer poured a dark brownish-black with little or no head. The aroma was dark sweet malt, with some chocolate hints. The mouthfeel was full-bodied, velvety, and mildly carbonated. The flavour was complex and included dark malt, sweet malt, some coffee and some chocolate. This beer was more stoutlike than a Scottish Ale.

The beer poured a translucent red colour (a lighter red) with almost no head. The aroma was weak, some malt, some hops, but not much else. The mouthfeel was light-bodied, almost watery, with medium carbonation. The taste was rather skunky with some malty hints, but not a very good beer.
