Didn't he try to sing a Beatles song? Heard a clip of it on the Howard Stern show this morning and yeah, it is awful.

What was the song that William Shatner tried to sing? I just remember that he has a horrible voice.
wasn't it a butchering of Elton John's "Rocketman"?

Shatner...and Nimoy as well. I've got a CD (birthday gift from my son) called "Spaced Out", featuring both Shatner and Nimoy with selections from albums they each released to cash in on their Star Trek fame. They are both f*cking butchers as singers. So painfully bad as to be hilarious. Shatner especially stars with his inimitable rendition of "Lucy In the Sky With Diamonds". I remember seeing Nimoy back in 1971 on a local telethon, where in the wee hours of Sunday morning (we were drunk and that was the only show on other than religious ones) he had the audacity to offer up a brutal, live version of "Proud Mary". You've never heard the likes of it...

Now that the topic of Shatner and Nimoy's butchering of songs has come up......does anyone from the 60's recall Mrs. Miller? Man, oh man, did she butcher songs on the talk show circuit (Downtown, These Boots Are Made For Walking, Let's Hang On etc.)! Her appearance on a show was always good for a few laughs.

I liked Nancy Sinatra's, "These Boots Are Made for Walking." Petula's Clark's Downtown was kinda cool too. And didn't Franki Valli do a version of "Let's Hang On"? That wasn't too bad either. I just keep coming back to that stoopid Grease song, "Tell Me More." Ick, Ick, Ick.

No way on earth I could come up with THE worst song. So many are so bad in so many ways. Anything The Captain and Teneille sang put my teeth on edge in the 70's (thank god they didn't become retro popular like that dreadful disco crap did). I've heard those "renditions" of pop songs that Capt. Kirk and Mr. Spock did. So painfully bad they're hilarious. You've never truely lived 'til you've heard Leonard Nimoy sing "Proud Mary keep on Boinin' (no ****, that's what he says!)". Basically, y'all have some pretty heavy hitters you've come up with. I could add: Who Let the Dogs Out Relax (Don't Do It) Music Box Dancer Eres Tu I've Never Been to Me ANYTHING by Sinead, Madonna, or Britney ANYTHING rap[;)] (sorry, couldn't resist) I had a college suitemate lock his door and leave for the weekend, with an endless tape of Billy Idol's "Rebel Yell" cranked. We broke in after hours of that, destroyed the tape, and sent the LP flinging across West End Avenue from the 14th floor of our dorm. We didn't offer to buy him a new one when he returned.
