The beer brewing rights of the townspeople of Vyškov, which had been cancelled during the Hussite wars, were renewed in 1460 by the Bishop Tas of Boskovice. Vyškov Brewery was officialy founded in 1680 by the Bishop of Olomouc Karel of Lichtenstein. The Bishops of Olomouc managed the brewery from 1680 to 1855. From that time to 1945, the brewery was rented out and managed by various companies. In this time period, the brewery was plagned by several fires but was always redeveloped and repaired. The brewery was taken ever by the national administration authorities in 1945 and was nationalized in 1948. Jihomoravske Pivovare a.s. was the last company to manage the state owned brewery. Since 2011, the brewery has been managed by Czech Bevrage Industry Company a.s. The brewery has recently been modernized and now uses state of the art processing equipment resulting in the production of high quality products which often win national and international awards. The beer in Vyškov is still produced by using traditional production methods, which allow us to produce beer honestly, as they used to during the golden days of brewing in the Czech Republic.
