500 ml capped bottle, bought at the brewery. Poured in the original Mönchsambacher bavarian seidla an unfiltered and light hazy golden orange coloured Heller Bock with a two fingers light beige and soapy foamy head that had a very long retention and tons of micro bubbles. Sustained carbonation. Some lacing. The aroma is deep grainy malts, moderate herbal hops, hay and pronounced barnyard. The flavour is sweety malts, some yeast, a touch of spices with peppery notes, herbal hops and unexpected fruits, oranges. The mouthfeel is fulled, quite thick and hoppy bitter. The texture is a bit oily. This full bodied Heller Bock has a long hoppy bitter finish and a nice warming effect. Simply a " good " Bock from the well-known small brewery located not far away from Bamberg.

Draught@Café Abseits. Yellowish golden colour with some haze. Small white head. Aroma is alcohol, vegetables, toffee (quite diacetylic) along with malts. Flavour is bigtime diacetyl, some malts and hops. Pleasant, though the diacetyl scares one at first. Slight alcoholic burn as well.
