Unusual name, unusual beer. The Waggle Dance is a movement a bee performs to alert the hive of a source of nectar. Waggle Dance is brewed with a touch of honey which gives it a taste of summer no matter when you raise a glass. This is balanced by a healthy does of hops to provide the bitterness that gives a wonderfully delicate flavour. The overall result is beautifully balanced and sneakily seductive. Pale ale and crystal malt, Fuggle and Golding hops together with South American honey create this delicious golden ale with a superb honey aroma.

Of all of Young's beers that I have tried, this one was the one I disliked the most. I'm not big on the honey flavor in beer although honey has its place with a nice mead. The color of this beer was it's best quality as far as I'm concerned.

Clear golden yellow with white lacing foam head. Aroma is nice bitter, same like taste. Aftertaste is fresh. Dissapointed a bit, bit watery. (Velp 201309)

Hazy orangeish amber colour with mediumsized white head. Aroma is some skunkier hops with some pleasant fruity hints. Flavour is malty, hoppy with bitteralmondy and nutty hints. Slight sweetness pops up in the finish. No big winner, but still drinkable.

Pours a nice gold/orange color. White head on top slowly fades to a thin lace. Aroma of grass flowers and malt, a slight hint of honey is present. Taste is smooth with a slight dry grassy feel up front with a sweet middle and a slight dry but slightly sweet finish. A bit fizzy in the mouth and a bit watery in the middle. Kind of a bland brew that doesn’t do much for me. Overall, average at best

Pours yellowish orange in colour, nice head, smells somewhat sweet, tastes a little hoppy with a very mild note of honey. It wasn't what I expected. It was rather borish for a beer made by the people who make Double Chocolate Stout. Nothing in this beer really stands out. An average beer. Not bad, not great. Definately one however that you should purchase and try yourself.

clear amber colour, fine head and a nice lacing, floral, slighlty honeyish, smooth with a low bitterness, dry finish - terribly lacking of character

Medium orange gold color. Medium sized white foamy head. Aroma is malty, sweet, honey and fruit. A medium bodied ale. Malts are fruity and sweet. Hops are spicy (most definitely fuggles). Taste is smooth. Honey flavor is not to sweet, which is nice, I will drink this one but there is nothing here that would make me go to any length to purchase it. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and crisp. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

Cask conditioned at The Pickerel, Cambridge. Deep golden colour. Very nice honey and flowery aroma. Flavour is moderately honey sweet, minimal bitterness. Some malts too. A bit thin mouthfeel, though. Not my favourite this one.

Everything from Young’s is substandard, except the chocolate stout. Pours from the bottle with a cloudy, deep gold. Smells lightly of orange and honey. Tastes like soap and wood with a touch of orange zest. All the flavors were off.

If the name didn't say it had honey in it: 1) I would not have known; and, 2) I may not have been as excited to try it. This one hardly had an aroma and what was detectable was weak (no honey). The mouthfeel was carbonated and slightly watery. The flavor only had a hint of honey cuz the bottle said there was some in there. Otherwise a light beer with a decent malt/hop balance and an enjoyable bitterness. The head was perhaps the best part, although it became close to non-existent by the bottom of the glass. Substantial lacing to enhance the plain yellow-gold color.

For a brewer that produces some outstanding brews, these guys also produce some real dogs - this one included. Pours with an outright golden color reminiscent of Miller Light. Average to inferior white head is what this brew begs, and the nose was nonexistent. Flavor is that of a weak bitter with just a hint of honey showing through - which wasn't bad, but really didn't contribute much either. Body was probably the weakest of any English ale I've tried. I'm glad I tried it, but it will be a long time before I order it again.
