Brewed in one of the southernmost breweries in the world, this ale is like a spring thunderstorm: dark, breezy, exhilarating and unsurprisingly wet. It's near black and malty rich, yet is also fresh and joyously hoppy - a juxtaposition of beer styles that we call "Pot Kettle Black". Enjoy it with your favourite friends and great music.

second shoutout to MCA, sad to see the good ones go. back to beer: I don't know what to say... overall it might not be my favorite, but it's truly an unique brew. Like a homebrew mistake that ended up good. Being in the land of the CDA, dark and hoppy I understand. This though... is dark, roasty, malty, chocolaty, AND hoppy? Good gods. A little smoky, over carbonated I think. Pretty smooth, but on the thin side. Reminds me of a German dark lager a little. Above average, but not something I'd go back to very often. Bit of an identity problem. A lager porter?

tribute to MCA on the day he passed. didn't know going in if this was a porter, stout, black ipa... first impression was porter. at first whiff the malt was the key player. lots of dark roast. but then the spicy hops took over and the bitterness lingered in the aftertaste. final impression was somewhere in between. nice beer. kinda steep for what you get, though.

Strong, smoky aroma has roast coffee, chocolate and licorice hints. It pours a deep sable with a thick, almost Guinness-like tan head that hangs around for a bit and leaves some decent lacing. Earthy flavor has notes of burnt wood, malt and licorice and just a hint of caramel. Smooth texture has above-average body and fizz, leaving a nice smoky tingle. I look forward to more brews from the Yeastie Boys.
