Fall has officially arrived , the season and Yazoo Fall Lager. In years past the Yazoo Fall has been a ale but we decided to change it up this year and use a lager yeast. This gives the beer more of a even bodied mouth feel that has a full robust malty flavor. One sip and you will instantly think of the season. In the South, the surest sign of fall is the first crisp morning. That starts the Ginko leaves turning yellow. Then, like a football team at the snap the bright yellow leaves all fall at once, carpeting backyards with a thick layer of leaves. Our Fall Lager builds to a malty peak, and then disappears with a clean crisp hop note.

A nice beer in a christmas beer package from brother Louis. Pours a clear orange colour with a nice sized white head. Plenty of biscuit malt, fresh hops and pear on the nose. Nice crisp malty flavors too, subtle spice and long fruity finish.

Reminiscent of the Festbier by Weihenstephaner which is golden goodness. Clear straw yellow with a short, filmy head and very little lacing and low on the carbonation. Lots of straw and grass with a spicy noble hop presence and a residual sweetness. Light bodied and firmly crisp. No doubt this is brewed to be downed in great quantity while getting the yard and house ready for winter (at least that's what it would work best for up in oHIo). Props to Louis for another Oktoberfest enjoyed in 2011.

Bottled on Oct 18.11 labels states: Nice clean clear honey color pour with a slight white head and lazy lacing. Malty and caramel aroma with a slight wet corn flake presence, and a touch of hops and honeysuckle. Taste is very clean and crisp, malt-dominant, caramelly sweet, light Noble-type and floral hops bitter with a very slight nice linger. A bit zesty and sharp. Good Marzen - glad Yazoo stepped their game up.
