I reallt could not tell the difference between this beer and the Prior from St bernardus. full bodied but a bit too much. aroma was flat. the head was very long lasting. Flavor was just ok...

375ml bottle corked and caged. Pours a murky ruby light brown with a fizzy tan head that quickly dissipates.

The aroma is vinous alcohol, wood, tart fruits and some floral notes.

The flavor is sweet breadiness, oak and some tart fruits. The finish is sweet with some dark fruits (figs). The alcohol is well hidden. The mouthfeel is full bodied and smooth with some slightly sharp carbonation.

Overall, I was pleasantly surprised by this. It's a nice Belgian Ale (a little on the sweet side) with a good use of wood aging.

Poured a reddish amber color with a small, off white head that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of nuts, dried fruits, vanilla, light yeast, caramel, oak, and light smoke. Taste of toffee, light caramel, tart citrus, buttery, toasted malts, nuts, light smoke, dried fruits, and faint alcohol in the end. Surprisingly pretty decent.
