Not a bad brown ale, starts off with a sweet nutty flavour and descends to a bitter bite at the end which I didn't like too much. I prefer the smooth finishing nut brown ales more than this one, not a bad beer but not as good.

Purchased on a trip to Vermont in a small convenient store. Lots of carbonation creating a light overflow, and a big creamy-frothy beige head that stays very long. The brew is a deep amber colour and gives out aromas of apples at first pour. Then, nutty yeast appears. Fruity malt taste with light yeast and some decent hops. Good, but not my thing.

Nose of coffee, coal, and toffee, maybe a touch of pine, if you have ever had psoriasis this smells like most of the old coal tar ointments. Dark brown body , moderate to slight head leaves a decent skim coat with some malty indications. Mouth is fuzzy but not in good way (OK this is not my favorite style) and medium bodied that turns watery fast. Some high back of the mouth citrus hop notes present themselves right up front and get followed by a sour fruit flavor with some clinging sweetness. The end is tart and the aftertaste is a bit fruity. I'm scoring it as high as I can for a style I am not fond of.

This was a delicious dark brown medium bodied brown ale. A faint aroma of roasted malts and candy. Although the aromas were disappointing the flavors more than made up for it. Chewy, sweet brown sugar, caramel flavors I noticed on the palate. A nice, easy drinking brown ale with some surprises that made this beer so worthwhile to drink more than one.

Bottle. Pours a clear brown color with a thick, almond head. Slight lacing. Nutty, malty aroma. Nice nutty flavor to it with a hint of caramel. Nice, clean, malty aftertaste.

Pours a dark brown, with a sweet walnutish initial taste which satisfies the Borwn Ale requirement. Thin lace and little head. Gotta say this is is my top ten for Brownies thus far in my (un)distinguished tasting career.

A pretty good all around Brown Ale. Deep Brown color with a medium tan head and a lot of lace on the glass. Nice amount of spice in the flavor to offset the sweet brown sugar, nutty taste. A bit of a bite at the end which I liked. Solid.
