This was $5 off the hefty price tag on clearance, and now I know why. The "double-hop" label is a little deceiving, as this is more like an extra or regular pale ale as far as hopiness. Semi-cloudy dark yellow-light orange appearance. Mouthfeel a little flat, as I thought this style would have more carbonation. Flavor is grainy and grassy, not much malt....sorta like a saison-ESB hybrid. This was something new to try, but would pass in the future.

Bottle courtesy Larry Pitonka/5000. Not from a favorite style of mine, but I picked it out anyway, and within style this one did fairly well. The pour was deep orange, nice head and lacing. The aroma was strong malts, caramel, toffee most notable with an earthiness also present. The flavor was earthy caramel, toffee, herbal notes, nuts, slight bittering hop finish but well behind all the strong malts. Mouthfeel was full and a bit grainy. Thanks, Andre!

slightly hazy reddish-amber colour, little but long lasting foam; strong hoppy nose (strawberries and lychess, flowery); oily and sticky, robust malt body; powerful and tart bitterness and a very long hoppy finish whcih shows more notes of red fruits - a hop bomb and very US-style ... but I like it ! Thanks to Papsoe for this beer

Dark golden, small dissapearing head. Floral bitter hop aroma, hints of tropical fruit and grapefruit. Flavour starts sweet of oranges and kiwi. Strong grapefruity bitter finish.

Bottled. Hazy orange colour, nice white head. Herbal and flowery hoppy aroma. Some orange, candy and hints of yeast too. Flavour is leathery, fruity and even some caramel in finish. Also flowery hops and some grassyness. Aftertaste is yeast, fruits and hops.

Draught at Plan B, Copenhagen. Hazy brown colour. Oak, raisins, rye bread and caramel in the aroma. Flavour is moderately oaky with raisins, fairly sweet (too sweet?), decent hops.
