I picked this beer up from the Barrel Chest in Roanoke, VA. In an attempt to knock off the last 5 styles, I grabbed this as a highly regarded representative of the weizenbock. I'm not a wheat guy but this is quite nice. I noted the color to be a golden straw - based on the style standard, I would've expected it to be a tad darker. All in all, a nice beer. Fruity, zesty, grassy. Lemon throughout.

I live in hope that someday a Canadian brewery can make a Weizenbock as good as Vitus. A hazy straw beer with plenty of white frothy head. Wheat, banana, cloves and bubblegum are the primary players in the aromatic side of things while the sweet and spicy malt backbone make up the flavour. A well made beer that hies the excess alcohol that comes with a bock.

Pours an insane amount of frothy white head and had a hazy orangey, deep golden appearance. Pretty thick dirty lacing. Aromas of yeast, malts and light spices. Flavours are mainly tropical and citrus fruits, some hints of bananas, yeasty notes as well as breads and mild spices. Average carbonation. Has pretty good retention. Full bodied mouthfeel. Goes down easy for the abv. Good stuff.

Pours like pineapple juice with a massive 4 finger head that takes it damned time. Not as dark as you would call a bock. Lots of bubbles coming from the bottom of the glass. Aroma is of yeast, wheat and spices. Taste is full of bananas and cloves with hints of metal and wheat. Finishes off pretty much non-existent. I like it but expected a little more. Very easy to drink.

Hazy golden orange color with medium carbonation that creates a thick white head with good retention. Not much lacing. I can tell this is a quality beer but not really into this style. Mildly spicy, malty flavor, hints or cloves, toasted malts, lemon, wheat, yeast, banana and honey. Weizenbock, Hefeweizen. I need more practice.

Wish List beer; bottle from Belmont Party Supply in Ohio. Very lightly hazed golden yellow pour with a tall bubbly white head, chunky lacing and nice carbonation. Hefeweizen on steroids! Pleasant and welcoming bananas, yeasts, lemons and spice in the nose and palate, wheaty, zesty, more over-ripe bananas, more yeasts... This beer is exquisite. GREAT beer from a fantastic historic brewery.

pours a very cloudy pale peach colored body with a huge, frothy white head and tons of carbonation bubbles coming up from the bottom of the glass. The aroma was citurs, dark dried fruits, wheat, some banana, apples, sweet malt. The taste has lots of sweet fruity flavors coming through, more sweet malt flavors than wheat. The mouthfeel is medium bodied, medium carbonation, full flavored.

Hazy light-coloured yellow with decent white foam hed, lacing to glass. Aroma is that of a spicy single-bock wheat beer. Taste is perfect weizen, simply nothing to add. Has to be drunk at right temperature. A really special beer with full body and a distinctively great mouthfeel. Prost! (Velp 201209)

Hoegardenish blonde wheat. Not one of my favorite styles, but based on my prior samples from this brewer expecting to be slightly better than what it was. Sort of plain, but the mouthfeel and balance is decent. Not something I would seek again, although I do prefer the maltier beers from this brewer.

Had a hard time finding this one in Ottawa, so got it at the LCBO in Niagara Falls on my trip there. Pours a cloudy golden-amber colour with a soapy off-white head that dissipates averagely and leaves minimal lace. Quite a spicy smelling beer we have here. Belgian yeast and soft wheat as well. Wet mouthfeel that is medium-full bodied with no burning at all. Matly wheat taste with some of the spices nicely blended in. Very mild aftertaste of bananas and bubblegum (but not as dominant as most weizen). A good beer, but not sure why this one is rated so highly. Kind of soft in all aspect.
