Our brewers worked for two years with the world’s oldest brewery, Germany’s Weihenstephan, to create this unique new beer style. A groundbreaking brew, made with only the four traditional ingredients: malted barley, hops, water and yeast, Infinium™ is a crisp champagne-like beer with fine bubbles and a fruity, spicy aroma. The crisp clean malt character and delicate fruit notes in this beer are complemented by a slight citrus flavor from dry hopping with Bavarian Noble hops. Bottle conditioning adds another layer of complexity and light spice notes.

750ml bottle
10.3% ABV
Best Before: July 2011
I tried this beer on April 9, 2011 after purchasing from the Queen's Quay LCBO outlet in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The beer poured a translucent deep gold colour with orange hues, and a long lasting rocky tan cap. Aroma is earthy malts, honey, light fruit, yeast, and some weak hops. The nmouthfeel is medium bodied, highly carbonated, and champagne-like. The flavour is sweet malt, light fruit, yeast, and honey. Complex flavour and aroma but not something I would try again.

Saw a recent review on this and it reminded me that I haven't done my review since trying this in march at irishpfist. Thanks for bringing this Lou! Deffinitely a celebration worthy beer, champagne like for sure.

There is a tag on the bottle that said to try before July 2011. Whoops. It being a belgian style, an extra year shouldn't hurt it. It had the makings of a champagny Belgian style tripel, but was quite muddled.

Oh shiot. What a kick-ass beer. So glad brother Lou brought this over to pfoxyjohn's for the pre-irishpfist tasting. Beautiful brew that I think everyone enjoyed. Pours a golden-orangeish colour. Big, soapy top, lots of carbonation. Champagne like texture. Yeasty, pineapple, mango and some firm hop notes. Nose is wheaty and noticeable yeast. Thanks Louis for sharing this with us!

Way to tall of a cap was produced during the pour, head is soft and creamy with massive bubble creators forming after the poor, the body crystal clear golden pear. Aroma is mild and malty with a Belgian yeast profile, hints of lemon, and some alcohol showing up in the nose. Full creamy mouth feel. I was not a fan of this taste at first but it’s really growing on me, Belgian strong mixed with American strong! Wood, cherry, lemon, yeast, yum. Good beer it beat my expectations.

Wish list item, shared with several at IrishPfist Pre-party Tasting. Clear golden pour, very effervescent, big bubbled white head which quickly dissipates, spotty lacing. Sweet champagne-like aroma, apples, sweet malts, hint of tart and yeasts, earthy hops. Very near sweet champagne flavor also: sweet bubbly, light tart apples and fruits, yeasts, earthy hops. Very refreshing. I really enjoyed this concoction - took balls to brew it. Nice to share with PfoxyJohn, phishpond, heybeerman and others.

Aromas and flavors of spice, sickly sweet honey, old malts and wheat, all were a mess. Orange /yellow body with a thin cap that didnt leave much lace. For $18 a bottle this is a must miss, and i am kinda surprised that Sam Adams and Weihenstephaner would put out such an abomination.

The most expensive beer at the LCBO, anfd aside from the swill, probably the worst. I did not enjoy this at all. The beer poured a cloudy golden-orange with a huge frothy head. Lots of yeast and spice in the aroma, light fruit such as apricot and apple, and hops. Maybe a little too much going on. A coarse champagne palate with flavours of grain, hops, yeast, and citrus. Very dry.

750 ml very elegant corked bottle, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Brewed according to the Reinheitsgebot. ABV is 10.5%. Crystal clear golden colour, pours very sparkling with huge white head. Slightly "unfresh" aroma of "Belgian" ale yeast, mild spices and stale marmalade, hints of alcohol and solvent. The flavour has also an "unfresh" character, notes of stale fruit, stale hops, alcohol and a hint of caramel. Whatever the idea behind this beer, it was poorly executed. Disappointing.

Sampled on 3/12/2011. This Belgian Strong Ale pours a medium orange gold color from a 750ml bottle. Small to medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is fruity, bready and sweet. A medium to light bodied Belgian Strong Ale. The malts are fruity and sweet with a touch of tartness. Spritzy carbonation. This beer is very reminiscent of a sparkling wine. A little tart and sour with a lot of residual sweetness. It tastes a little un-beer like at times. Definitely interesting and different. Hides the alcohol well. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

I picked this beer up mainly because of the hype surrounding it. That being said, it was not worth heafty price tag- but what beers, minus the few ELITE really are. In any event, this was a nice spring beer. Champagne like mouthfeel - effervescent on the palate. The flavor was fruity and floral. As pleasant as this beer was, I likely won' pay for it again.
