Next Brewers Gone Wild! Beer: Paradise By The Dash Board Lights - A Doubly Blessed Cherry Porter. Yes, another variation of an Imperial Porter. This one was inspired by a Cherry Stout brewed by Fitger’s that we tasted at the Autumn Brew Review in St. Paul... although I now have no recollection of how it actually tasted. Paradise By The Dash Board Lights was brewed with our "base" Imperial Porter recipe with the addition of 840 pounds of tart cherry puree. I think it has a nice tartness... and a nice level of cherry flavor. Everything changes after the yeast drops out, we filter the beer, and also once carbonated.

A very mellow porter with a smooth sweet velvety feel. Hints of roasted malt, chocolate and bread with a minimal tart and sweet cherry side that's subtle and complimenting. slinky, sexy smooth....

courtesy of pfoxyjohn - with the heaviness of this beer and what's going on flavor-wise, I'd have pegged this a strong milk stout if i didn't know better from the label. blurs the line for sure. lots of chocolate, dark and tart fruit, and heavy roasted malt. super smooth, with a lingering sweeter than expected finish. a little sweeter than i'd hoped, but still quite good.

This poured a black color with a beige head. The aroma contained some coffee, chocolate, caramel, and cherries. The flavor is on the sweet side with a hint of cherries (less than expected) coffee, milk chocolate. The finish is rather sweet. Another nice one from these guys! Overall I went ALL the way tonight, no need to sleep on it.

Big thanks to pfoxyjohn for another outstanding Wisconsin beer - from a seriously good brewery. Black pour with a thinnish head and some lacing. Aromas consist of slight cherry sour, roasted malts, cream, and slight coffee. Smooth taste with really not much cherry - it only smooths out the malts - very nice and creamy. Thank you again John.

Thanks, pfoxyjohn! Pours deep brown-black, little head but good lacing. Nose is solidly impy porter, roasty malt with a tang that's not obviously cherry. Cherry shows up more in the tasting, especially as the glass warms, though never overbearing; certainly more porter than cherry. Mouthfeel is appropriate for a porter; finishes tartly, with a litle burnt malt undertone. Wish I had more than one, though I don't think I'd have more than 2 in a sitting. Nice brew!

Porter flavor was there but I didn't taste that much cherry, just a little on the after taste. Nice brownish black pour with a nice dark head. A very tasty and smooth beer.

Via trade from the one and only pfoxyjohn:) This poured a black, ruby tinged body with thin tan cap that left good lace. Flavor had a bitterness up front with a slight cherry taste, then the earthy, roasted coffee and hints of dark chocolate peeked through. Thanks John!

Thanks to pfoxyjohn for this one. What an odd name this one had. Pours almost black into the glass with a small brown head. Nice smokey malt taste with a mild cherry bitterness to it. Not bad at all.

It's hard for me not to rate these guys high- they do such an awesome job at all their beers! Pitch black- tar, motor oil- whatever you want to call it's image- but nothing like it in taste! Aroma is cherry infused, smoke- rauchbier like qualities- bbq i guess- chocolate and oak on the nose. Taste is very rich, again black cherry- probably chocolate covered. Lots of dark fruit, great tasting and super filling!
