The copper color is very appealing and adds to the carmel-body backbone and body. Strong hop flavor dominate. Aroma is certainly present but not overwhelming.

Had to have this one in thirds and out of a brandy snifter as it is really exotic in its strong hop flavor. Sweet and yet mellower hops. Each sip is like falling into hot tub of hops, which makes me wonder, why haven't spas caught onto this yet? Or have they?

Thick and sweet malts are pushing past some catty and fruity hops. Little to no bitterness to speak of, really surprised how balanced this is. Medium bodied and unassuming. Great looking pour. Sturdy after taste with a thick finish. Ended up being a slow sipper on a relaxing evening.

First, a huge thank-you to heybeerman for sending me a 4-pack of this beer. I'm pretty well versed in Imperial IPA's these days having everything from East to West Cost and the European take on this American style. It's basically one of my favorite styles, so it's always a treat to enjoy a new one.
If I try to describe in one word my opinion of this beer, it's balance. From the first pour to the last sip, balance was on my mind the entire time. And while balance isn't always a bad thing, I do like my DIPA's to be a showcase for hops and lean towards the unbalanced side of things. The hop aroma doesn't really explode out of my glass, rather kinda creeps out and hangs around with malts and they kinda cancel each other out. There's the light caramel malts, and some juicy/citrus hop but nothing that I would say floors me.
The flavor revs up and brings some nice bitterness with pine/citrus hop 1-2 punch, but it's off=set by the fruity, caramel sweet malts. It really does just scream balance and would maybe be a nice starting DIPA for new people getting into the style. Nothing aggressive, as much as the name of the beer might want you to think it is. It kinda get's candy-ish after awhile. Mouthfeel is damn near perfect with a wonderfully smooth, medium thickness. Not quite coating, but if it was then it could get cloying, so it's just right. -

An orangy copper color with a white head that laces quite nicely. Mouthfeel is a little light for a DIPA but that makes this very easy to drink. Flavor is a very piny, citrusy, hoppy explosion and the aftertaste is dry and leaves you wanting to drink more.

an aromatic and highly tasty IIPA courtesy of pfoxyjohn. nice bouqet of floral citrusy hops and spice. the head is big and tight. body is big and creamy. very nice. huge hop bitterness and flavor, and one of the hoppiest beers i've had that's managed to be well balanced. flavor is lots of citrus and spicy hops and lots of malt to sweeten things up. lingering bittersweet aftertaste. very nice, smooth brew.

Pour is amber-orange with a thin white head that leaves plenty of lacing. Aroma is almost all hops with just a bit of caramel to keep things in check. Wonderfully oily mouthfeel. Hops again take over in the taste--plenty of piney, floral, and citrus notes. A terrific DIPA.

Delicious DIPA with a wonderfully full hop flavor. The appearance is a bit lackluster. It’s a light amber beer with little head and not much lacing. It looks lightly carbonated. The smell is a tad on the weak side and the sweet caramel malt shows up too strong for the style. I absolutely love the flavor, and I’m not entirely sure why. Objectively, there’s a bit of booziness and it’s sweeter than I usually like for the style. However, this combination of specific flavors works really well for me. The caramel malt backbone really allows the hops to be fully tasted under their otherwise bitter flavor. The hops are citric, floral and a bit grassy, very nice. The feel is oily with hop resins. I find the beer interesting and drinkable. despite its sweetness and pungent hop flavors.

So the combination is one, two, three, four, five? That's the stupidest combination I've ever heard in my life! That's the kinda thing an idiot would have on his luggage!

Hop bomb courtesy of pfoxyjohn. Pours a slightly murky light amber with a thin head and some lacing. Some carbonation. Aromas of citrus and pine hops with grapefruit and lemons present and some malt. Taste is potently hopped with a fresh citrus-grapefruit and piney and lemony hops leveled somewhat by some slightly sweet malts and a linger of bitterness from hops and a slightly fruity/grapefruit aftertaste.
