Okay, it was going to be a Maibock, but you know how mischievous goats can be...anyway we ended up with this delight. What to do but add a crack of black pepper? Around here we call it Goatzilla, but don't let that fool you, it's mellow as a kitten.

Pours an amber body with plenty of sweet carmel notes and a tiny of spice. The high ABV isn't concealed very well, midpalate has a little bit of brandy or some other spirit. cherrywood aromas in the head. Not a big fan of this one.

Poured a blonde amber color, nice off-white head, solid lacing. Aroma was of citrus, grass, and maybe some caramel. Flavor was caramel, citrus, some pepper, and very light grass. This thing was sour-caramel, more like a terrible English beer than anything German, let alone a doppelbock. A complete train wreck. They were going for a maibock but got this? Yeah, the fermentation went bonkers, they didn't control the temperature, and then threw a bag of pepper in it to make something "special"? Right, but I'd prefer to emphasize their terms "unusual" and "extreme," and not in a good way. A bad concoction.

An amber colored beer. The flavor is rather sweet and sugary with some honey, lemons, and caramel present. According to my notes and in completely different hand writing (ahem Bluezmadam)...."Sucked! Loved it!"

This bock pours a deep orange color from a 22oz bottle. Very small sized head. Aroma is orange, fruity and sweet. A medium bodied bock. Malts are fruity and sweet. Hops are mild and slightly grapefruity. Lots of orange and peach flavors. Nice carbonation. Very smooth taste. Mouthfeel is very full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

This one pours a clear copper with a small head. Honey and toast float from the aroma. The flavor has a moderate bitterness. Slightly warm. Rich mouthfeel.

"Noogfest 06". The aroma was spicey with some caramel and had some nice profiles of malts with maybe some dough or breadiness on the backend. The appearance was a nice brown-reddish amber with a nice head on top that was a light-brown in color and diminished quickly to a light lacing that adhered to the glass. The mouthfeel was lighter than expected and was acceptable and had nice complexities to it as well as a palate that was crisp. The flavor was malty, sweet, and very good and I picked up caramel and vienna malt with maybe some very slight peppery spice. Overall, a very solid brew here and pretty mellow and easy to drink as well. On a final note, this was the last beer I had at the tasting and by that point, 5-7 hours later, I was quite drunk and very satisfied with the whole experience! I look forward to the next one.

Poured a clear caramel color with a small, light tan head that left very light lacing on the glass. Aroma of spices, caramel malts, some banana, honey and some dough as well. Taste of honey, some lemongrass, caramel malts, light spices and a dry finish... some alcohol as well.
