This one has a lot of chocolate and texture. Sort of like a cross between Young's Double Chocolate and Bell's Kalamazoo. Strong on the coffee too. Sweet and milky, but the only complaint is maybe balanced a tad too sweet. Nothing wrong with the flavor though. Dark black, heavy appearance with a mocha head. Haven't head many from Twisted Pine, but from what I've had, they brew solid beer.

From the Hootenanny: black pour, short tight head quickly dissipating to a tan ring, big lacing though. Espresso aroma - strong, roasted, welcoming - then some stout in there somewhere... Same with the flavor. An espresso foward brew, dominate, strong, tasty. Just really good. That's all.

this does for stout what Coffee Bender did for brown...for those who like a little beer with their coffee. I'm sure there was stout underneath somewhere, but it was hard to tell. awesome (if you like espresso) aroma of stright up iced espresso. bittersweet and smooth. would be awesome for/with breakfast.

Wow! THis one starts with a blackness like few I've seen before. The tan head is frothy but a bit small. And disappointly not much hang time. It settles into a thin soapy ringlet. But things get better as the aroma and tasting are all about coffee bean and roasted malt. A light medium body. As a dessert this one would go well as a float with coffee ice cream

It pours oil-black with a thin brown head and some specks of lace. An aroma of roasted chocolatey malts, espresso and coffee bean, hops, orange, light raisin, molasses, and light spices. The mouthfeel is smooth and rich. Flavors of chocolate malt, espresso and rich coffee, hops, orange, light raisin, light molasses, some bitters, and spices. Exceptional!

The one i have looks the same but the name is "Big Shot" instead of "Big Daddy" probably a recipe tweak. Anyway this one one the silver medal at the GABF in 08', must of had alot of espresso drinkers on the panel that year. If you are a espresso fan this is right up your alley, a little watery but pretty good overall (yeah i like espresso).

22 ounce bomber, "Date Bottled" on the side, but the months and year aren't checked off. Doh. Pours mahogany with a thin tan head, surprisingly light for a stout. Low carbonation doesn't feed much into the head, and it eventually dies down to thin whisps and no lacing. Pleasant aroma of strong espresso, burnt chocolate, and brown sugar. Flavor is rather unexciting; light coffee notes, milk chocolate, grass, earth, wet paper, and some charred wood. The coffee and roasty flavors are very subdued, and are laid out on a very thin watery body. Some signs of oxidation don't help any, major letdown.

22 oz bottle dated 2/06. Pours an opaque brown/black with a creamy dark brown head that quickly diminishes.
The aroma is big on the bitter coffee with some graininess and sweet chocolate.
The flavor is sweet and creamy coffee and some chocolate, but kind of watered down. There is a little bitter acidity at the finish. The mouthfeel is kind of thin and very watery.
Overall, this would be excellent if not for such a watery mouthfeel that bleeds into the flavors. On the plus side, the more I drank of it, the more I dug it. I'd like to see a little more bitterness to balance the sweetness. Coffee stouts are fun though, and this is a very affordable example.
