Pours opaque chocolate brown with a fairly thick, though not long-lasting, tan head. Aroma features a strong note of sour fruit, pear, cherry, berry, and a little apple. Flavor is seriously sour - if you like your beers sour, you will enjoy this Grande Dame! Pear, apple, cherry and berry tones contribute to a taste that will make your whole face do the Sour Brown Shuffle. Mouthfeel presents firm, smooth body if not a lot of fizz. This one could have you speaking French even if you don’t know much!

Tasted at the Triple Rock Sour and Barrel Aged Fest on 2/13/2011. This wild/sour ale pours a slightly hazy medium brown color from a 750ml bottle. Medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is chocolate, cherries with a touch of tartness. A medium bodied wild/sour ale. The malts are fruity and sweet, cherries and chocolate. Medium tartness. The hops are earthy. Nice carbonation. Good balance. Nice tartness throughout this beer. Some fruitiness as well. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly tart.

Bottled@omhper. Hazy amber colour with small off-white head that leaves some slight lace. Aroma is fruits, wood, some berries, mild caramel malts as well as some slight tart/sourish notes as well. Flavour is being quite much the same in a rather nice balance.

Bottle: Poured a dark redddish color ale with a medium foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of vinous sour notes is well done. Taste is a nice mix between some tart notes with some oak and light cherry backed by a nice solid malt backbone. Body is quite full with good carbonation and no sign of the alcohol. Very well done and definitely underrated compared to some other beer form this style.
