Marrón Acidifié: Imperial Oud Bruin. For our first collaboration beer we are lucky to partner with Cigar City Brewing out of Tampa, Florida. Geographically a country apart but following similar paths, we felt an immediate connection with Joey, Wayne and the crew. We're both young breweries, founded and staffed by homebrewers, who use interesting ingredients and techniques to make unique, full-flavored beers. A recipe was created over pints at Falling Rock Tap House during GABF 2009 and Wayne came out to help brew it shortly after. Over a year in barrels has left this dark sour layered with notes of cranberries, tropical fruits, leather and aged balsamic vinegar, balanced by wood tannins and roasted malt. Raise a glass and toast to the success of fledging breweries across this great nation!

I was scared to try this based on the description and talking to a few folks....mainly cause it was the first $20 beer I bought and was afraid that I'd have buyer's remorse. Plus, I am usually not that fond of sours. This was one kickass beer!! Very complex but suprisingly well-balanced. Shared this with a buddy who hosted a superbowl party and he said could be the best beer he's had. Not my favorite style, so this may not make the top twenty for me...but this one has class for sure. Has a dark red to medium brown appearance. Flavor is too hard to describe....tart, tangy, etc....all I could think is balsalmic-leather...but in a good way of course. This is something I would get again to share with connoisseurs.

Stoked to get to try this! .. . Poured a brown gold van gogh .. . aroma of fruit, overipe fruit, molasses, and funk .. . such an interesting blend of flavours, very complex and thought provoking .. . A fantastic collaboration .. . . And now, in the spirit of the season: start shopping. And for every dollar of Krusty merchandise you buy, I will be nice to a sick kid. For legal purposes, sick kids may include hookers with a cold.

and here i thought the night would go downhill after the awesomeness that was Friek. they nailed this one accross the board. wonderful aroma of oak, funk, and some fruit thatat first you think is cherry but has a more tropical smell and taste to it. in the flavor there's oak, fruit, substantial funk (though not nearly as sour as Friek) and some leather, which i just loved. lasting impression. will seek out again.
