In our constant evolution as a brewery, we’ve developed on undying drive to meld the organic and the mechanical. Perpetual IPA utilizes our hopback and dry-hopping to engineer a bold Imperial Pale Ale. Perpetual IPA is 7.5% ABV and 85 IBUs. It features Bravo, Chinook and Mt. Hood hops in the boil, Mt. Hood and Nugget hops in the hopback and Citra, Cascade and Nugget hops in dry-hopping. “Straw in color and bittered with an abundance of citrus and spicy hops, Perpetual IPA is a tribute to building our new brewery and our desire to continue exploring,” says John Trogner.

I picked this beer up from the Barrel Chest in Roanoke, VA. This was a decent enough beer - bright citrusy hops, nice yellow/straw color. Just a nice beer - nothing remarkable.

Tropical nose which is becoming a bit to prevalent in my opinion. Sweet malts there as well violet and candy. Pours a hazed medium amber body with minimal head and negligible lace. Mouth is a bit thin and perhaps under-carbonated. Flavor is astringent without being pleasant. Needs a better malt profile. Alcohol is the predominant flavor until the aftertaste which is medicinal and nasty.

I was 800 miles from home for a funeral. Stopped in the local liquor store to find a regional beer that I had never consumed before. This one looked interesting, since Troegs Nugget Nectar has been on wish list for quite some time. Pours a golden/amber color with a small, but quickly disappearing white head. Citrus, floral and pine aromas on the nose. The initial aromas appeared on my tongue and quickly disappeared. For an IIPA (7.5%), the lack of follow through taste was quite disappointing. Certainly not a drain pour, but I've had single IPA's with considerably more flavor. A pedestrian IIPA, IMO. Maybe it was old, as I didn't check for a date and gave the rest to my son in law who was equally underwhelmed.

Pours a slightly hazy golden with a nice white head. Hoppy aroma has an underpinning of Mandarin orange. Flavor is hoppy and fairly bitter, and has a definite Mandarin orange note. Smooth, fizzy texture leaves a hoppy finish. A perpetual delight.

Yeah, I could drink this again, good, local IPA. Golden beer with no head, super clear. Smells good, tastes good, goes down good. Strong pine, also a good bit of citrus, decent.

Admittedly, I am not a huge fan of IPA's but this had a very, veyr bitter taste and an aftertaste that lingered a long time. It poured a nice light sandy color with a slight heard. The armoa was quite strong. Of all the IPAs I have ever tried I think I liked this the least. The aftertaste was very hard to get rid of.

7.5 on the bottle.Pours a straw colour with a small bubbly head. Leaves a little lacing with an oily film. Pine and lemon aroma. A little spiciness in the flavour and hops. It is as advertised(perpetual)medium body, carbonation and mouthfeel. Dry finish as expected. Make this a seasonal and Nugget Nectar year round and we have a winner.

Copper color with a large head and ample lacing. Big floral hop aroma, caramel and biscuit malts with citrus and pine galore. Fairly bitter and decently dry. Very nice IPA.

22 oz. bottle from Pinocchios in Media poured into a pint glass. Appearance was dark gold with a finger of white head which settled to a coating. Lacing was light but lasting. Nose was citrus hops up front with elements of floral and grassiness and spice. Taste is a very nice and refreshing - citrus, some bready yeast, mild bitterness and caramel sweetness. APA? Nah… this is an IPA taste for sure, but like most of my favorites - even with a refreshing bite, still overall quite nicely balanced. Mouthfeel is medium, mildly carbonated, and on the sticky side. At 7.5%, this is (carefully) sessionable. I am pretty excited about this beer. Nugget Nectar is our finest right-coast IPA ( I know, I know…not how Troeg's classifies it) but with limited (seasonal) availability. Now they have filled some of the void! Try this again - are you kidding? I am on my way back to the fridge RIGHT NOW!
