500 ml swing-top bottle, bought at the brewery. Poured in the original Treuener Pokal a clear and deep red-burgundy coloured Dunkler Bock with a one finger beige and fine foamy head that had a short retention and tons of micro bubbles. Soft carbonation. Good lacing. The aroma is roasted malts, caramel, riped fruits, figs, plums and caramelized apples. The flavour is roasted malts, caramel, brown sugar, a soup of riped fruits, plums, figs, berries, apples and spicy with licorice hints. The mouthfeel is quite thick, sweety and very smooth. This medium to full bodied Dunkler Bock has a long malty and fruity finish. Brewed by a small and very old brewery, "Braurecht" since 1483, located in Vogtland, Saxony, this Dunkler Bock, with its very well hidden alcohol, is a pure delight.
