Pours a very large amount of creamy frothy looking head. Has a slightly cloudy coppery appearance. Thick dirty lacing. Aromas of various hop varieties, like floral, spice and resin. Strong flavours and bitterness. This includes Citrus hops (oranges, lemons) floral hops, light roasted malts and a bit of sweetness with hints of caramel and toffee. Strong spiced touches as well. Has a creamy mouthfeel, slight tingling, fairly strong bitter aftertaste and also in the finish. Really good, bitterness on the palate that lingers and the flavours that stay with you for a while.

Clear copper colour pour with a decent white bubbly head. Retention is not very good but leaves a nice lace. Sweet malts, pine and citrus hops in the aroma. Orange peel and grapefruit flavour. Medium bodied and medium carbonation. Not bad for the price but the market is getting more competitive.

I tried this beer on March 1, 2012 after purchasing from the Queen's Quay LCBO outlet in Toronto, Ontario. The beer poured a slightly hazed golden red with a generous long lasting tan head. The aroma was hop heavy with a lot of citrus and grapefruit notes and some caramel and bread. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavour is primarily grapefruit with some piney notes. Very good, but not the best DIPA I've ever had. -

Nice ! Made it to Ontario (LCBO) in a bomber. Pours a slightly hazy amber colour with a creamy off-white head that stays a long, long time, creating bubbly lacing. The aromas are a nice mix of the hop (pine, grapefruit), sweet malt (caramel) and notes of nuts. Pretty much the same is found in the taste. A nice dry finish with the hop, lingering, but not over excessively. Again, well-balanced with the caramel malt, burnt sugars. This is really easy to drink and does not hit the extreme of Double IPAs.

650ml bottle fairly fresh. Pours a turbid orange-amber ale in the glass with a massive creamy long lasting cap that will support a quarter. Medium carbonation, excellent lacing. Aroma is a pungent earthy-sweet fruitiness with undertones of ripe mango, honey and saramel malts. Rich mouth feel, Big blast of alphas in front is instantly balanced by big caramel maltiness and earthy fruit tones. Finish dries out slightly but alpha bittering lingers like a long cold metallic sting on the palate.. A world class DIPA.

An 8% winter seasonal, and it's a pretty good beer. Cloudy orange-gold with a thin tan head, almost a creamy head. The aroma is sweet malt, caramel, and a plethora of citrusy hops. The flavour is grapefruit, and bread, A nice combination.

Maybe the best beer I've had from Tree. Poured a clear and dark copper below a modest creamy, tan head. Aroma was certainly hopped, and the flavour had s nice, biting bitter hop taste, with a tinge of sweetness to finish. Good mouth, too. being almost creamy smooth. Bit of sediment at the bottom to boot!

I can handle the hops! In response to the label, and despite the brewers promise, my non-beer drinking girlfriend enjoys the hops. Not strong on the nose, the beer is perfectly bitter, the alcohol undetectable, hops characterisitc. Pretty damn good IPA. Love to try a beer with this flavour, bit dry hopped, and get some more nose on it. Good Good

So, I compared this to the regular Hop Head and there are very few similarities aside from the layout of the label. Poured out a massive light tan head with good retention but little in the way of lingering lacing, perfect deep orangy amber colour. This opens up quite nicely during the warming period. Pretty straight forward aroma: sweet grapefruit, apricots or a sweet but soft fake orange smell, weak pine, caramel malts that are blended in very well with the sweet citrus from the hops, resin, very pungent flowers - its not Tiger Lillies but it has that blunt strength. Very good finish on the aroma. I'm much happier with this that I was the first time I drank it. The taste is also pretty good and fairly straight forward which is a good thing. Citrus mix of grapefruit, lemon and very sweet oranges, pine, great caramel that is very well balanced, resin. Great tangy / caramel / orange / bitter finish. 8.0% was perfect on this brew. Permanent deep piny bitter after taste. 10$ is pretty overpriced though.

Hoptastic smelling beer smoke!! Dark honey brown body with a massive tan cap floating on top. Sweet grapefruit hops, celery salt, caramel and mild amounts of sweat comprise the aroma. Taste starts with a sweet grape fruit hops and ends in a massive heavy bitterness. Full flavoured brew, malts are dark and rich lots of roasted wood flavour prevail. The bitterness is kicking my ass not so much while drinking but the lingering bitterness is harsh. No trace of the alcohol is detectable. Flavor is very similar to the normal hophead but this has a way bolder taste. Ten minutes after finishing the beer my saliva taste like bong water.
