Feb. 2014: 330 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 7.4%. Slightly hazy deep golden colour, large white head. Aroma of brettanomyces, barnyard, dust and some spice. Moderate carbonation in the mouth. The flavour is not too sweet, but not dry either. Not sour (which I expected, as they have used brettanomyces lambicus). Yeasty notes, and a sharp hoppy bite in the finish and aftertaste. Not really great in my book, To Øl have better beers than this.

I had this beer at Búđin (pronounced “Booth-in” which is Icelandic for “The Shop”) in Greenpoint/Brooklyn, New York. The shop it self was fantastic but this beer was AMAZING. This was a REALLY funky beer. It was higher in abv, but it was light as a feather - no hint of booze. The beer was high in horseblanket - both in aroma and in flavor - but was hopped well enough to make this more of a farmhouse IPA than a "saison" (given this classification based on the websites and menu). This was an incredible beer. Well done Tore!
