Black Ball is a potent porter with a nice and rounded mouthfeel combined with a lot of American hops, that balances the full and creamy body which has notes of chocolate, coffee and smoke. Ingredients: Water, malt (pilsener, smoked, chocolate, caramunich, brown), roasted barley, flaked oats, dark cassanade sugar, hoops (Simcoe, Centennial, Cascade) and yeast.

My first experience from this brewery, which I have been wanting to try for a while. Black colour with hardly any highlights. Huge creamy warm beige head, great retention and loads of sticky lace. Aromas of chocolate malts, cocoa nibs with hints of coffee and roasted malts. Roasted malt taste with some liquorice notes, molasses, chocolate and decent hops in the finish. Lightly oily mouthfeel with a dry end. A pretty nice first experience.

The beer pours a solid black colour with a foamy brown head which takes a couple of minutes to recede into a thin lacing on top which lasts a while. The aroma is roasted malt, some licorice, and some dark chocolate notes. The mouthfeel is medium bodied, slightly creamy, and highly carbonated for a porter. The flavour is dominated by roasted malt flavours, some smoky flavour, and a slightly sour aftertaste of weak rubber. -

Rich, smoky aroma has a strong overtone of sweet chocolate and quality roast coffee plus a hint of molasses. It pours opaque sable just a flea’s eyebrow above black with a thick and rather persistent tan head. Smoky, woody flavor has licorice, coffee, chocolate, molasses and toffee - not too sweet and rather lip-smacking. Smooth, firm-bodied texture has a good fizz to it. Highly recommended.

Prucahsed at Belmont Station Portland. Wow this was a big beer for 8%. REally strong nose, hints of smoke, lots of carmel, touch of sour and alot of roasting chocolate. Touch of hops, more than sufficiently bitter, really big body, fills the mouth with strong flavours. Hard to drink just because the flavours are so pronounced, tastes like a BrewDog Tokyo almost. Black, dark tan head, good retention. Well enjoyed, but hard to enjoy, I had to work for this beer

At Copenhagen Beer Festival. Black colour, tan head. Malty and moderately roasty aroma, with notes of cassanade sugar, caramel and and hints of smoke. Also some hoppy notes. The flavour has also moderate roasty notes, chocolate and some caramel, hints of wood and smoke. Moderate but noticeable hops. Very nice!
