Another 3 quarter buy at Grocery Outlet. This time, my luck wasn't so good as I found this one barely drinkable. I can't see how they classify this as a hefe, because it's only a hefe in appearance. Slightly hoppy in the nose, sweet and malty on the palate, this is more like a lager. Not really all that enjoyable either, as it took me awhile to drink this. Nothing really offensive about the beer, but it just didn't float my boat.

Wheat gold color, slightly cloudy. Medium head Flavorful hefe, some hoppyness in nose, some in taste. Aftertaste is smooth, some hop bitterness.

well the beer looks nice, that is it has the signature hazy orange colour with a good looking pure white head on it. The aroma is very subdued with only the slightest hint of the wheat and esters we expect from a hefe. Again the taste is not unpleasant , but more like a thickjer lager than a hefe to me. Average mouthfeel. Its drinkable in this damned heat..but its no hefe! Its even a bad American wheat, it says on the bottle label "unfiltered lager"..and that is what I think it is a lager ..as a lager it wouldnt be bad..but a hefe..its poor.
