2012 Citra variety. Weak tea brown pour, nice head and lacing. Huge Citra aroma, citrus, lemons and oranges, almost cat pissy, fresh as hell, then some malts to try to offset all of those Citra hops. Flavor? Citra Citra Citra hops. Clean, citrus, bitter, nice. Great linger too. Loved this one.

The amarillo description is for the batch that was made when this beer was entered. The recipe stays the same but the hop used changes every year. Much to my liking, this year's (2012) was citra. Freshest beer I've ever had from GA (buddy grabbed it still in the box a week ago). Really nice aroma a blast of citrus, orange and tropical fruit galore, Flavor much the same...understated, but full and lively, slightly dank. Mellow ipa, but I really dug the freshness and aproach to this brew.

The name and label suggests fresh, organic, etc....the mouthfeel and flavor stands up to it's name. Everything about this beer just says "Fresh". With that being said, I did want a bit more flavor, but the clearness/smoothness/cripsness is what they were shooting for. Light on the malt which gives this brew fresh feel. Mostly about the hops here, which at the finish tastes like I am almost biting right into the plant matter....but in a good way! I may prefer Sierra Nevada's versions(Northern/Southern Hemisphere), which is also more affordable. This is not quite worth the price, but quality is good enough to be worth the try.

An amber colored beer with a creamy textured off white head. Medium in size. Not much hang time but decent amount of film on the sides of the glass and a thick ringlet and light cap atop the body. Herbal, resiny and sweet are the nose senses. The flavors match, with an under tone of sweet malt holding up a bolder floral and earthy hop presence. Crisp and light-medium bodied. Let this one warm and everything dances out at ya.

Aroma is SERIOUSLY hoppy - almost like sniffing a pine tree, with a firm undertone of slightly sweet grapefruit. It pours a luscious dark golden amber with a fairly thick, if not too persistent, off-white head. Flavor is not as hoppy as the aroma promised, but is still fairly hoppy with a malty undertone and more than a hint of citrus, mainly grapefruit and orange. Texture is fairly fizzy and leaves a nice tingle.

Pours light copper with a thin lilty white head. Lacing abounds. Aroma is faint pine. Mouthfeel is nicely balanced, creamy. Flavor is sweet yet very balanced with "beer" instead of just being sticky sweet. Very drinkable!
