A classic Bavarian wheat beer. Fifty-percent wheat malt adds a slight tanginess to the finish. The true Bavarian yeast strain provides a hint of clove and banana. Unfiltered to leave in the utmost flavor. Lemon garnish available upon request. JUDGED BEST BAVARIAN HEFEWEIZEN 2002 CALIFORNIA STATE FAIR ®

Sampled on tap at Taps on 7/10/2010 from a 2 oz sampler. This Hefeweizen pours a slightly hazy gold color from the tap. Medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is fruity, with a touch of banana and clove. A medium bodied Hefeweizen. The malts are fruity and sweet. Hints of banana and clove. There is a touch of sweetness throughout this beer. Good balance. Nice carbonation. Smooth taste. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

This was the winner of the day. Big banana and spice nose/flavor with some bubble gum in there also.Very good beer. Re-rate 6/27/03. This is a fine example of a classic hefe. Poured a friend from Germany 6-7 of these tonight and had as many myself. Both of us agreed that regardless of where we were this was an excellent rendition. Huge Banana and clove profile. As it warmed the Bubble gum aspects started to come to the front. Tart yet fully drinkable. Full bodied but light and not filling. Great summer brew.
