Zombie Monkie is a dark, rich porter, carefully brewed for the post-apocalyptic world to come. Crafted with lots of roasty dark chocolate and specialty malts, then inoculated with enough hops to add a floral/citrus character in the finish. It's hardy, complex, and interesting, because you might be drinking it for a long time. Zombie Monkie...

On my wish list on name alone. Tallgrass just started distributing to my part of Tennessee, so, I get some. Rich roasted maltiness highlighted by choclate and slight coffee flavors and nose. Easy to drink, tasty, and now another MONKEY beer marked off my list.

Awesome looking can by the way. Pours a very dark brown/black with a 3 finger chocolate milk colored head that takes it time. Body is somewhat clear but still has a hard time showing any light at all through it. Aroma is very full and chocolaty. Hints of dark roasted malts and some light coffee. Taste is fairly full bodied but a tad watered down. Hints of coffee ground bitterness with hints of chocolate roasted malts. Very light soapy feeling to it like a lot of porters but this one is manageable. Goes down the throat very fast like water, not much stickiness to it. Finishes off with a little metallic tinge to it but it is barely noticeable. Very nice.
