When it came to creating Ripper, we drew inspiration from the coastal surf cultures of SoCal and Oz. Sourcing classic Cascade from the Pacific Northwest and Australian Galaxy hops from…yes…Australia, we made a beer both lovers of frothy peaks and hoppy green buds will be stoked about. At the same time, we stayed true to our San Diego roots by pushing the hop boundaries of this style. While some might think it lingers on an edge far closer to an IPA, with all the dry-hop flavor and aroma, it’s actually right in line with the current-day interpretation of a West Coast pale. Ours just so happens to have an Aussie accent that’s cascading with a juicy amount of grapefruit and passion fruit hoppiness. So veg out or venture out. Either way, rip one open and taste this awesome golden nectar! FEATURED HOPS Cascade & Australian Galaxy

Rated March 2017. 12oz can pours with a clear copper body that supports a tan head of foam. The aroma offers up grapefruit, tangelo and then a wafer thin citrus candy note towards the end of the draw. The taste delivers a nice grapefruit and slightly resiny pine hop bite followed closely by the malty to crystal malt influence. The bitter hops persist right into the finish. Decent enough.

Can. Pours clear amber with a thick and frothy pale buff head. Aroma offers zesty citrus and resiny hop notes, promising an enjoyable ale. Flavor delivers the hops, resin and citrus that the aroma promises, while adding woody and fresh malt undertones. Mouthfeel presents average body and some lively tingle. 12 oz can. Pours slightly hazy copper gold with a big fluffy white head that retains well and leaves a little lacing.

The aroma is bready malt with sweet sugary fruit with some dank spicy piney hops.

The flavor is sweet biscuity malt with some fruit and big resiny spicy hops. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with smooth carbonation.

    Overall, a decent hoppy pale.
