You have in your hands a devastatingly fresh double IPA. While freshness is a key component of many beers- especially big, citrusy, floral IPAs- we’ve taken it further, a lot further, in this IPA. You see, we specifically brewed it NOT to last. We’ve not only gone to extensive lengths to ensure that you’re getting this beer in your hands within an extraordinarily short window, we made sure that the Enjoy By date isn’t randomly etched in tiny text somewhere on the bottle, to be overlooked by all but the most attentive of retailers and beer fans. Instead, we’ve sent a clear message with the name of the beer itself that there is no better time than right now to enjoy this IPA. First Batch: Enjoy By 09-21-12.

Rated Nov. 2012. I think this was the 11-9-12 batch that was poured up on tap at Star Bar (in Denver) with a pure gold body that supports a near white head of foam. The aroma is big yummy earthy dank spicy hops with a bit of sweetness around the edges. Inviting! The taste is similar but the richness and depth put you in a hop induced trance for a few moments as your senses try to interpret what the hell is going on. Man! This is rich dank yummy earthy hoppy goodness with a wonderful mix of flavor and bittering hops. This is hitting the spot dead on. After two pints I only want to consume more as the hop bitterness and big near sticky hop richness are in balance and keeping it fresh and lively the whole time. Wow! I need a pallet of slims of this for my house. I really wish all follow on batches were this good. They're not.

Enjoy by 2.14.16 Gorgeous cloudy orange pour with an off white head. Thick lace. Citrus and pine aroma. Flavor was a little dry and didn't have much hop presence.

Enjoy by 12.26.14 Fresh aroma of pine. Nice light golden colour, not much head but does leave spotty slick lacing. Amazing flavour, tastes fresh but I think that's just Stone playing with my brain. Sweet melon and peach, grass and loads of pine. Medium/full bodied and oily mouthfeel. Good sales gimmick. I'm sure this beer would last but I did as I was told and drank by....Now I can go get more.

I picked this beer up from the Wine Gourmet in Roanoke, VA. This beer was interesting. It says on the bottle to drink by 4.20.2014. If that reference wasn't obvious enough, the neck of the bottle says "DANK." Indeed the beer smells like dank. It is oily and slick, hoppy and bright. Grassy and floral hop notes. A very nice beer.

Bomber from Haggen/Burlington, WA. Enjoy by 02.14.14. Okay, I will and I did (or close to it). Pour of medium clear gold with a creamy white head. Aroma was nothing short of a pine bomb. Love it! Oh yes, some grapefruit notes too, but not obvious. Alcohol for the aroma, flavour, and finish. Flavour also had citrus and pine, so did the finish. Pretty damned good.

Bright yellow sunshine in color with a big frothy textured, white head rising above. There's good hang time on the head and good lacing left behind. The profile is intense hoppiness, floral and piney mostly. Crisp and effervescent. Another in your face beer from Stone.

I think this "Enjoy By" is a marketing gimmick. I had this about a week after the "Expiration Date". Sampled their 17th Anniversary IPA/DIPA the week after which I found slightly better. A semi-clear light yellow/orange appearance with a fair balance of sweetness and bitter. This is still top-notch beer, they just have so many now that they are starting to blend together.

The 10.25.13 edition.. Big, heavy, pungent pine-funk grapefruit aroma, hints of tropical fruit and some caramel malts way back there. Nice deep copper body, super thick, and sticky lace left behind. Flavor is a pine and grapefruit punch, some balance from the malts but this is all about the hops. The way a IIPA should be. I think i like this better than their Ruination....

Enjoy by 10/25/13. What an intense experience. It's been awhile since I had an IIPA that was this explosive in both aroma and flavor. A nose blasting, tooth melting experience. An onslaught of peach juice, passion fruit, canteloup, and sugar bag. But while the aroma is simply amazing, it's nothing what the flavor the palate delivers.
First sip gave me chills. Been awhile since I got chills. When it hit my palate, I could pick up flavors all over the place. Lots of pitted fruit, lots of tropical fruits, lots of pine, lots of citrus, lots of dank, lots of resin, lots of sweet base malts.
Crystal clear in my class with a small, tight white 1/2" head. Small carbonation floating up in the dark gold body. Mouthfeel is full and quite sticky. Finish is incredily long. World-class IIPA. -

Enjoy by 9-13-13. Pours a piss dark yellow with a one finger head that stays for a bit. Nice amount of carbonation is keeping the head there. Aroma is very fruity and hoppy, you can get get a full whiff of it fairly far away. Taste is very fresh with strong hints of fruits, hops, and pine. Aftertaste is sweet and piney. For those who love hops this is for you if not you will hate this beer.
