This deep amber hued ale takes it’s inspiration from Germany while still nodding to the Belgian farmhouse tradition. The base is comprised of German two-row, wheat, Cara-Munich, and roasted barley. Generously hopped with a blend of Perle, Spalt, and Hallertau Mittelfrüh and fermented with a rustic Belgian farmhouse ale yeast. These elements together provide a melange of earth and fruit aromas backed with hints of caramel with a dry clean finish.

Pours an attractive amber with thick, lasting head. Pepper, citrus, and yeast are the primary aromatics. The flavor is sour and spicy though not overly so. Medium-bodied and soft on the palate. I don't love saisons, but I thought this was a pretty solid one.

A bright ruby-light brown colored beer with a big creamy textured, beuge colored head rising robustly above. There's good hang time. Settles eventually into a thick ringlet. In the nose I sense some aprocots and yeast. In the tasting the same with cinnnamon and cloves. Medium light Bodied Quite good.

A well put together beer, but not really what I'm looking for in a saison. While the light funk, yeasty spiciness, fruity and slightly hoppy characterisitics of the aroma and flavor were nice, the beers faults were equal to it's strengths. Too much carbonation (about half the time in Stillwater brews) and replaces the sun-shiney aspect of the saisons i really like with a little dustiness. Still ok, but not at the pricepoint. It's a 94/97 on RB, so i'm kind of in the minority. Better on tap, 3.6 to 3.3.
