Poured dark black color with tan head amazing lacing and rings. Aroma was of roasted malts smoke, chocolate and vanilla. Taste was much the same. Mouthfeel was a little more bitter then i would have liked.

Poured an opaque black color with a medium sized, light tan head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of chocolate, roasted malts, light smoke, vanilla extract, and diactyl. Taste of chocolate, roast, anise, dried fruits, walnuts, and more diactyl. Enjoyable, though the butteriness of the aroma and taste was somewhat off-putting. And this should be a fresh batch, as they were all out when I was here 2 weeks ago.

Stewarts Highlander Stout poured a black colored body with a decent tan head that left minor lacing. The taste was a blend of coffee, chocolate with a roasted yet smooth finish. Very enjoyable.

Poured on nitrogen, pitch dark (no colored edges at all) with a nice fat tan head on top. Lacing was outstanding, coating the glass long after I was done. Aroma was coffee alone. Flavor was pretty much coffee with some chocolate and roasted features. Simple (coffee #1 flavor), but enjoyable. Fairly sweet start with a nicely bittered finish. Not as "dry" a finish as others, maybe a bit too deeply roasted for a dry stout. Mouthfeel was typical for the style.

My first trip to the Stewart's brewpub and this beer did not disappoint. Poured beautiful dark brown color with a nice finger width head that lasted throughout and left a nice lacing on the glass. The taste was not overly complex, but I really enjoyed it nonetheless. And, at $2.75 for a pint during happy hour, it was one of the best beer value's ever. I'm definitely interested in going back there to try some of their other offerings.
