Starr Hill Jomo Lager is the smoothest of the Starr Hill arsenal. Although Jomo is brewed according to the German tradition, it’s muy mellow, a favorite among the siesta set.

Pours a clear amber with a decent white head. Aroma is malty with an undertone of apple. Flavor is crisp, malty and a little fruity, not special but palatable. Texture has average fizz and viscosity. OK, but definitely drinkable. Good with dinner.

An enjoyable lager. I wasn't sure what to expact from this brewery as I had never tried them before but they surprised me. A clear copper color with a white head. Lots of caramel in the nose and palate. Creamy. Enjoyable.

Pours coppery/amber with a decent but very short-lived head, some laceing left. The aroma is slightly grainy with a hint of honey, which strengthens as the beer warms. The flavor is solidly grainy, with a nice, crisp honeyish bite. The mouthfeel is quite smooth with little carbonation, and there is a slight hop bitterness on the finish.

I picked this beer up as a mixed six-pack from the Salem Kroger. I have to support local breweries and now that I am a Virginian, I need to try the famous Starr Hill. This beer was a decent Vienna lager. It basically met the style, however, it was a little light in color. It should've been more of a reddish hue. Other than that, I would have it again - well done.

A copper color with a white head. The aroma is malty with some caramel and toffee present. The flavor is simple but nice with some caramel, toffee, cereal, and a hint of citrus coming through. I agree with the commercial description saying this is a crossover beer. I could see it. Nice session stuff. Not complex but I doubt that was the goal.

Purchased on my trip to Nashville. Pours a hazy golden-orange colour with a creamy head that has great retention and sticky lacing. The nose is mild with malts and grains. Nice spicy hop in the taste and the malt leads into the aftertaste. A nice in-between macros and micros, getting that german malt and a bit hoppier than most swill lagers.

My second Starr Hill. Another semi translucent orange colored beer. A big fluffy white head. Long lasting hang time. Settles into a robust lacing. The aroma is grainy malts with a metallic tang. Light carbonation. Noderate body. Crisp on the palate. The taste is again grainy malts with light hops kicking in the rear. Again, nothing that stands out and says, “Wow’. But except for the metal in the nose not offensive.

Pours a clear amber with a nice head and decent lacing. Slight toasted sweet malts and a dose of hops in the aromas. Taste is smooth but very average with a slightly sweet malt then bit-o' hops present. Decent amber.

Bottle courtesy of dcachur. Pours gold with a white head. Smells of dry malt, oranges. Tastes dry and grassy with a doughy finish. Decent session beer.

I liked this beer. Pours a light golden colour with a small off white head. it was a little complex in the mouth, yet very smooth, and nice biscuit malt flavors. Aroma is pleasent, of honey roasted peanuts.
