The appearance is an orange color with a white head. Aroma contains some citrus and caramel. The flavor also contains some caramel and citrus namely lemons. The aftertaste is slightly bitter. Overall this is a pretty good marzen.

Sampled not terribly long after the Autumn season so I can't imagine it was all that old. Regardless this beer was a wet cardboard, lifeless amber brew in a bottle.

They have been pushing Starr Hill at the festivals in north FL that I go to. First two I tried couple years ago (their IPA and Blonde Ale) were just ok, but I was actually liking this one. Tried their stout in a bottle last year which was decent too. So, basically finding them hit or miss so far....but the Festie is a decent Octoberfest. They were advertising it as an Amber at the venue, so was sampling it thinking was an amber....which seemed really good for that. But, the Marzen/Oktoberfest is more like what it is. Good caramel content...pretty smooth mouthfeel too. I would be interested in trying a 6-pack of this next season or whenever.
