750 ml capped bottle, as a 8 % ABV. Poured in the original Saint Rieul slendered chalice an unfiltered and opaque rich burgundy coloured Brown Ale with a one finger tan foamy head that had a long retention and tons of micro bubbles. Soft carbonation. Poor lacing. The aroma is intense roasted malts, roasted coffee beans, dark fruits, plums, raisins, an alcoholic feeling and burnt notes. The flavour is strong roasted malts, roasted coffee beans, brown sugar, spicy accents, licorice, chilli, gingerbread and dark bitter chocolate. The mouthfeel is fulled, prickly, thick and strong bitter. This full bodied Brown Ale has a long roasted malts finish. An interesting and flavourful Brown Ale, not so easy drinkable, from Picardie.

THis beer comes in a little black stubby bottle like Canada had back in the 70s and 80s. The beer is mahogany brown, dark, with a tan head. The aroma is roasted malt, some yeast, and sugar. The flavour is slightly sweet with some hints of dark fruit.

conditioned, ABV is 7%. Dark brown opaque colour, huge tan head. Moderate aroma of malts, bakery, caramel and coffee, hints of chocolate. The flavour is malty with some caramel and weak coffee, with hints of chocolate, but the finish has unfortunately distinct and unpleasant notes of wet cardboard and cigarette ashes, some metallic notes too. Could have been a good beer - as it is, it is not good enough.
