St. Ides Special Brew (Kiwi Strawberry)

I've had a few of these special brews, and there isn't a whole lot about them that is special. I also think these beers have more in common within a Canadian Durango (beer coolers in the early 90s) or the American Zima, a malt beverage in name only - but not a real beer. Suffice to say that this is a very thin bodied drink that is heavy on the alcohol, and heavy on teh strawberry kiwi aroma. Avoid if you can.

Smells and tastes as described kiwi-strawberry, pretty sweet and sticky I wouldnt drink to many of these in a row, kinda glad i havent had one in many years. Good for college girls.

It is like the rest of the special brews. If you've had one you've had them all. Haven't had it since I was a teenager. Even back then it seemed like the girl version of a 40

Okay, apparently this is considered a beer so I picked up some. The aroma is sweet as could be with strong strawberry present. The appearance is a cotton candy colored pink with a bleached-colored head and is stringy. The mouthfeel is crisp and light and a bit watery. The flavor is strawberry and kiwi like a fruit beer but more like a beer/wine cooler cross and is seltzer-like and sweet as hell. Overall, might as well be a wine cooler because it tastes like strawberry bubblegum. This beer brings back memories of being at a county fair eating cotton candy on a stick. A very pink version from the st ides special brew series. Definite sweet sugary taste with some decent kiwi strawberry hints. Quite refreshing, but dont drink this in front of anyone or your street cred is done.

Stong and sweet. Get two of these and you are ready for the party!!. This drink got me though my fresman year of college and a few college coed's! This is the pefect brew to get an amature really messed up on. I highly recommended for all of those college kids who are 21 and up :)

Wow, way overkill on the sweetness. tasted like i was eating a popsicle. more like i was drinking a girly drink at the bar than a beer... The appearance was like pepto bismo pink. so sweet it was tart.
