It is through the movement of the universe that life presents itself in transformation. It is in this spirit that we make ÜberSun, a tribute to the dynamic energy of summer. The alignment of wheat and barley through this hop-infused brew embodies the solar system itself... This may be a difficult task, but one our brewers revel in! They brew a galaxy of taste into every batch. ÜberSun is the ultimate experience that will challenge you with each sip. ÜberSun Imperial Summer Wheat Beer takes off where our Hop Sun finishes. Like it’s little brother, ÜberSun is clean and full of flavor, but don’t pull an Icarus– this is one big beer! Pour a glass or drink straight from the bottle, it’s meant to be consumed wisely with friends between summer solstice and autumnal equniox.

Bottled@Pikkulintu, Helsinki. Slightly hazy golden colour with mediumsized off-white head. Aroma is wheat, fruits, mild alcohol as well as caramel malts. Flavour is quite much the same along with toffee and some slight herbal notes. Pleasant.

Bottle: Poured a deep hazy bright orangey color ale with a medium foamy head with average retention and not much lacing. Aroma of intense wheat malt with lots of sweetness also coming out. Taste is a mix between loads of wheat malt with lots of sweetness and a hoppy finish. Body is quite full with good carbonation and no signs of alcohol. A bit too extreme for my taste and overly sweet for not reason.

Pours a pale, golden color with a small white head that departs quickly and leaves a thin ring on the sides of the glass along with some decent lacing. Sweet wheat and hops (centennial) dominate the nose. Flowery hops, some citrus, apricot, lychee nuts and a hint of alcohol on top of tasty wheat body. Clean and crisp. Another IPA/Wheat hybrid, in my opinion (that's a good thing). Mouthfeel is medium, which is a bit heavy for a wheat, but being an imperial wheat with 8% ABV, it works just fine. This is a great summer brew, especially if you like your beers with a higher alcohol content (as I do). Somewhat similar to Gumballhead, but not quite as hoppy. I have yet to have a bomber from Southern Tier that has been a disappointment. Highly recommend.

Presentation: It was poured from a brown 22oz bottle into a pint glass. Appearance: It has a clear, bright golden yellow colored body with some visible streams of carbonation and a creamy white head. The head is average in size and has good retention. It also makes nice lacing on the glass. Smell: The aroma has a strong hop profile that brings nice citrusy grapefruit notes over a sweet wheat and lightly toasted grain. Taste/Mouth feel: It has nice citrusy hops with mild bitterness and light spice that mix with sweet lightly toasted gain and wheat flavors. A sweet grainy and very mellow alcohol gives some warmth and sophistication. It finishes clean with a slight hop presence. The palate has a very smooth texture with soft yet active carbonation with in a medium to full body. Notes: This beer brings great flavors with good balance and complexity.

Bottled at Oliver Twist, Stockholm. Pours out in a clear pale golden colour with a low whipped white foam. Sweet, fruity and perfumy hop aroma of peaches, nectarines, flowers, Seville oranges, leaves and sugar. Medium to full-bodied with touches of peaches and flowers with hoppy undertones of leaves and grass. Medium-bitter finish of lemon-zest, leaves and grass with a dense perfumy undertone of peaches. Quite sugary and dense.

The bottle says it is an imperial wheat and I am not a wheat beer fan so I was a little apprehensive when I opened it. However, after the first sip, the apprehension disappeared. This is a great beer--lighter copper, almost golden, little head, and a mild hoppy aroma. Unlike most wheats I have tried, this one is missing the strong banana or orange/coliander taste (which is a very good thing). Very well balanced and deceptively strong. Excellent beer that I would definitely try it again.

Golden straw color, very minimal head and lacing. Weak aroma of fruity malt. The flavor was a mild wheat, immense citrus fruityness and a mild bitter finish. This is almost like an double IPA made from wheat. Tasty. I like ST.

Pours a perfectly clear gold with an ok head. The aroma is fairly hoppy, semingly close to noble hops, but maybe not quite. The flavor is clean, easy drinking American wheat, but the good kind and not the crappy kind.

Bottle from SL. Poured a straw amber color, fully body, ample carbonation, nice head, pale ale type lacing. The aroma was floral hops, wheat, some graininess to it. Flavor was floral hops, some light pine (amarillo present?), wheat and grains, some citrus. The mouthfeel is full-bodied. This is a heavy, higher octane, and hopped up summer beer, yet didn't seem overkill even on a hot and humid end of July day like today. Nice one, ST.
