If I had to have a pint of anything from south shore brewery this would have to be my choice. It reminded me a lot of the Titletown Sapsucker with a nice yeasty german yeast flavor. I was surprised that this was honey and not maple. Slightly watery in comparison to the Titletown. I asked why it was called a double maibock and neither the bartender nor the waitress could answer why. I assume it's double the alcohol, but am unsure.

What a nice surprise to find this on draught at the brewery. It poured a light copper color with a thin white head that left good lacing. The light malt nose contained hints of honey aroma that swelled as the beer warmed. Has a full and smooth texture and is moderately honey-sweet, with robust malt flavors and soft alcohol warming without being too heavy or overbearing. The finish is somewhat tart and slightly bitter. A well-crafted and very drinkable spring treat.
