Bottle. Colour - blackish brown in colour, solid, and a thin creamy Cap. Very disappointed in the lack of a head on a root beer. Aroma - sasparilla us the dominant aroma, some weak alcohol notes, and notes of wet cardboard. Mouthfeel - medium bodied, lightly carbonated, neither of which is very root beer like. Flavour - very sweet root beer notes. Did I mention it was sweet?

Pours barely translucent cola brown with a thick but effervescent light tan head. Root beer dominates the aroma so much that you think it is, well, root beer. Flavor is just as deceptive - root beer, sweet, but as you dig deeper you get a bit of an alcohol nip that reminds you, yes, this is not your father’s root beer. Texture presents firm, smooth body and good fizz. Watch out, this one could sneak up on ya!

12 oz bottle. Pours brown with a fizzy tan head that quickly disappears. Looks like pop.

The aroma is root beer and vanilla.

The flavor is sugary sweet root beer and vanilla. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with a little prickly carbonation.

Overall, tastes like strong sweet root beer and vanilla. I don't get any alcohol. Too sweet for me with too much vanilla.

Single bottle from Trader Joe in Vegas. Pours a dark brown colour with copper highlights. The head is fizzy, disappears quickly and leaves no lacing. Typical root beer aromas. The taste is like root beer as well with its sweetness, spiciness but it does have some grain flavour found in normal beers. Soapy notes. Not bad at all.

A dark ebony in colored beer. A sudsy textured light tan head rises briefly above. There's no lacing left behind. The nose is light rootbeer. The tasting more of the same. Closer in profile to a kid's soda. But good enough. Refreshing enough.

This was my first "hard" root beer. It was just "meh" for me. A few things - first there was no head/carbonation with the beer. Root beer is supposed to be carbonated (and retain the carbonation), this beer does neither. Thin head, quickly dissipates. The mouthfeel was a bit sticky and the flavor a bit boozy. Just not my thing.

The head is fizzy and very short lived, looks, smells, and tastes like root beer. When it warms a bit i get a cough syrup/ jagermiester like flavor on the back side, on the sweet side, overall its root beer with a bit of booze.

Well....I like root beer, and I like beer, so what's not there to like here? Not sure what the difference between this is and hard root beer..I'm guessing the same thing? This has a lot of carbonation, so would probably be better on ice. I heard a little vodka works too to strengthen it up!
