To commemorate a long and courageous expedition, the brewers at the Sleeping Giant Brewery have developed a special marzen style lager worthy of the name 'Lewis and Clark Lager' ™. Lewis & Clark Lager is a German Marzenbier brewed with a selection of fine Munich and Vienna malts and fermented with special lager yeast. This beer is a malty, medium-bodied brew with a light amber color, a nutty malt aroma and a crisp finish. This is Sleeping Giant's only lagered beer and the extra time it takes to make will be appreciated with every bottle.

I picked this up from the Sleeping Giant tasting room ($1 per single), on our Montana trip. The label is a classic picture, with L & C pointing out over the vast Montana landscape. (see BP pic, just with no neck label) Pours a deep orange/gold color, with a thin white head. Smells of dark grains and some grassy hops. Flavor has a lot of hop to, bitter and flavor-filled hops. Not what I was expecting from a marzen (closer to a pale ale) style beer. Lots of carbonation gives a full mouthfeel. Quite nice, can see why this is their flagship brand.
