had as Paradise Moon .. . brown .. low foam, some spots if lacing .. . very low on the aroma scale .. some light coffee and a touch of vanilla, bark also .. . a rather weak coffee beer but feels sessionable if nothing else . . .. Alright, I'm going out. If you light the place on fire the number's 911, thank you.

2 for 2 with beers from Six Rivers. This beer has a HUGE aroma of coffee and chocolate, like a decadent dessert of some kind. The roastyness of the aroma borders on being ashy, but not quite there. Any more so, and the score would go from a 9 down to about 3 or 4. Flavor is more coffee and a powdery chocolate bitterness that reminds me of Hershey's baking powder. The residual sweetness is kept on the low-medium side, so the bitterness of the malts really shows. Really nice. -

My first Six Rivers beer. I tried going to the brewpub in CA months ago but the place was so packed, I couldn't find a parking space after 3 tries so I left. This time I found it at the Green Dragon in Portland. Nearly black color with a tan head and good lacing. Super cocoa and coffee aroma reminds me of coffee flavored jelly beans. Light-medium body goes down nice. Only mildly sweet with a drying finish of coffee. Flavor is simple but very good. I could drink a few of these.

never had Moonstone, the base beer, but i LOVE me some Kona Coffee and like Pipeline from Kona, this beer puts the coffee to good use. nice balance in the flavor and aroma between roasted malt, bitterness, and a touch of sweet and spicy from the coffee. served at 50 degrees, especially enjoyable closer to 60. At $4 less than the Ras Lambic, it's a better beer.
