Our Chocolate Porter starts out with an empowering aroma of chocolate. The sensation of smoothness is partially due to the addition of oats. This porter has a coffee-like background flavor that comes from the darker roasted barley blending with the natural chocolate flavor to give an almost "mocha" experience to your taste buds. This could even be served as a desert all by itself.

I thank whichever local distributer has supplied the beers from Siletz because so far they have been nothing short of spectacular. Black opaque pour, light brown head about 1/4" in thickness for the duration, minimal lacing. Aroma is a huge mouthwatering dose of creamy chocolate with some bittersweet mocha coffee and sugar. Creamy and smooth on the palate, the label mentioned using oats and it's affect is noticed. Chocolate is prevelant in the flavor but doesn't dominate as it does in the aroma. This beer gets real bitter with a strong coffee and cream presence. Buttery-rum along with dry cocoa seem to be thrown in as well. This turned out to be a nice and unexpected dessert.

this local choco-porter poured almost black and i built up a yellow brown head. I liked the aroma of sweet mocha and tart fruits. Good flavor of chocolate- rich but not heavy....mouthfeel is smooth with oats added and fine bubbles. A Candy like taste of dark brown sugar and syrupy chocolate and coffee. The finish has a nice bitterness to balance. pretty tasty

From a 22 oz bomber "1st Place : Peoples Choice Award- KLCC Eugene Microbrew Festival 2005" Very rich dark brown coloured porter, cant see much light through it, small tan head. Very rich aroma of malts and dark roasted coffee and dark chocolate. Quite a coffee -like porter in taste, though the roasted barley is very well defined, then at the end the chocolate flavours come through, nice dark not too sweet chocolate. Very nice on the palte, its a rich, thick beer but never cloying, quite a long lingering after taste, which for me is a good thing., Quite drinkable for one so complex. Good stuff hope Siletz makes this a regular in their line up.
