Flipside Red IPA is a rebuttal to the mild-mannered beers of summer. Tropical fruit and citrus hop flavors from the use of whole-cone Citra, Simcoe and Centennial hops are the perfect notes for this in-between season.

355 ml bottle, in Nevada City. Reddish brown colour. Has the typical West Coast hop aroma and flavour, with notes of citrus and pine, but also some nice nutty notes from the malts, which contributes to a lovely balance. Another good beer from Sierra Nevada!

A copper color with a white head. Aroma contains some citrus, caramel, and tropical fruit. Flavor is bitter and sour with some lemons, caramel, grapefruit, and mango. A bitter and sour afaftertaste. Overall different but pretty good.

I love a good red IPA and this one is one of the best I've had. Sierra Nevada does every beer well. This was a really nice hoppy red. I could drink this anytime - great beer. Thanks Stacy!

Clear ruby, tan lasting lacing foam head. Floral hoppy aroma, nice bitter taste, smooth not overwhelming. OK beer and another nice addition to my collection. (Cleveland 201510)

Comes out of the tap a dark chestnut-amber with a fairly thick and fine-bubbled buff head. Malty aroma has caramel, fruity and grass hints. Flavor has a malty core with notes of woody hops, hay, cinnamon and caramel plus a hint of cola. Firm, smooth texture is rather fizzy, strong if not bold. You just might flip over this one.

A deep dark reddish amber colored beer with a big sudsy textured light beige head rising above. There's great hang time on the head. An impressive ringlet and cap are left. Spicy citric and biscuit sweetness all dance perfectly together in a refreshing, effervescent beer

The beer pours a nice clear amber with thin white head that is leaving spotty lace. The smell is a nice bouquet of fresh hops that carries subtle pine and citrus. The taste is a well balanced fight between subtle malt and fresh hops which provides a very nice sessionable beer. The mouthfeel is medium in body with smooth carbonation. Overall this is a good beer

Pours dark copper with a huge fluffy head. Aroma is hoppy. Mouth is smooth yet hoppy. Flavor is sweet and hoppy. I think this is a solid rendition of an IOPA, piney and hoppy and even a smudge oily.

Another solid hoppy offering from Sierra Nevada and a good beer to go with the transition from summer to fall. Citrus, tropical fruit and earthy, piney hops in both aroma and taste but with a strong malt presence that keeps the bitterness down. Great for this time of year but I'm getting antsy for some Celebration.

OK I don't always agree with IPA's cause well, the piney flavor and scent takes me for a loop? SN does always have a signature base blend, then when it is loaded with more hops it can get over powering and to much. With that said, I do feel that the FLIPSIDE was much more tamer than the TORPEDO. This brew was nice hopped, and more balanced. The roast notes gave way to a nice combo of floral and fruity notes. THE SN base does in my view get in the way when really trying to taste a brew. My favorite was and will always be the Maiboch that SN put out a while ago. I have never seen it again. This brew is a nice seasonal that was justs right given the night and circumstances it drank it in. Its a keeper.
