Just tried this beer this week with the housemate. Normally I'm skeptical on Sierra Nevada due to my experiences with the Pale Ale at 711, but this beer to me is the perfect Christmas beer. To put it simply, if you love hops? You'll love this beer. The appearance is clear and translucent owning a coppery-orangish color. The flavor is filled with grapefruit, lemon, orange, and tropical fruits in the beginning; and progresess nicely with some caramel finishing it off with some pine that creates a stimulating wave coat in your mouth. It's like Santa Clause punched you in your mouth but in a good way ^_^ Again, this is one perfect beer that balances it's adds to the cult status within the beer geeks and average beer drinkers. Grab some before it's discontinued.

Nose of Pine and biscuit and some significant malt. copper body with a frothy egg-white head that lasts forever and has incredible lace. Creamy medium mouth with significant tingle. Flavor is nicely bitter in an old fashioned IPA way. Some almond some Pine resin some biscuit some leather and tobacco.

2018 edition - written "Fresh Hop IPA" (packaged 10/22/18). Unfiltered amber colour showing some very tiny particles, with a warm yellowish frothy top, good retention and lots of wavy lacing. Fruity malt aromas with roasted, caramel and nutty hints. The taste is floral, a little perfumy, with a nice dry end. Feels like a bigger, dry-hopped red ale. Quite nice !

'07 bottle that's been stuck on the door of my fridge for some time.

Rare Vos glass. Crystal clear copper body. Tall, off-white, sticky, archipelago lace. Yeasties, unaware, never budge from the bottom.
Smells of rind & gum upfront, with crusty bread & pine on the back. Nothing's changed, except that it's a bit milder. Maybe a twinge of newspaper... I dunno.
Prickly grapefruit & piney hops upfront. Surprisingly bright. Toasty cereal, lingering rind. Toastyness is covering up for some oxidation, but it's light.
A bit thinner then fresh Celebration. Solid carbonation. Adequately boozy.

My tastes have probably changed, but this old bottle of beer hasn't moved that much at all, just a bit muted. Solid stuff.

Nice amber pour with a thick white head. Plenty of lace. Floral and citrus notes with some pine. Very nice mouthfeel with hop bitterness along with sweet aftertaste. Enjoyed this very much.

pours a amber color and is slightly cloudy with medium sized nicely textured off white head, and moderate lacing. The aroma is clean hop and citrus. The taste has a rumor of fruit, a whisper of caramel, a moderate bitterness in the aftertaste on a delayed release timer which then lingers. The mouthfeel is medium boided and just slightly dry.

Pours a clear amber with light haze. Head is nice and big. Flavor is slightly spiced and ever so lightly dry. Nice beer to have on tap. Will have again.

Not bad all around. Looks good in the glass, smells great, lots of spicey hop notes and quite lively. Taste is more hops with a very dry finish. Nice beer to sit and sip, could have a few of these.

How is it that I haven't reviewed this yet? I've enjoyed this beer for years. Pours a dark reddish-orange with an off-white sudsy head, leaving some lacing on the glass. Aroma is faintly caramel, flavor is hops and spices. Sharp, bitter burn as the beer goes down the old gullet. Just about the only great seasonal that I can find here.
