A hop-heavy twist on the classic blonde lager. Beer Camp is the ultimate brewing experience. We bring beer fans into our brewery nearly every week to create their own beer with us—the more daring the better—and each spring we’ll highlight one of the small-batch standouts. Last year, Beer Camp worked overtime. Along with our fan brews, we made 12 additional beers with 12 exceptional breweries. Choosing one for an encore wasn’t easy. Ever drawn to hops, we decided to reimagine our hoppy lager collaboration with Ballast Point. Not quite a Torpedo/IPA, but there is some good flavor and hop to this one. Sampled last year and was disappointed when I couldn't get more before it ran out. Even more disappointed to find out that this year's Beer Camp is not the same (Tropical IPA) ..which doesn't seem as smooth and refreshing as last year's Hoppy Lager. The hoppy lagers seem a little more refreshing in the hot spring/summer FL heat. This was probably the best lager (Hoppy or non) that I've had actually. I'll be looking out for it again.

Pours clear golden with a fairly thick and frothy snow-white head. Crisp aroma is malty with a touch of fruit, typical but inviting. Flavor adds more fruit and some hops to the mix. Texture is fairly firm and fizzy, and leaves a sweet malty and subtly hoppy finish. Don’t worry, be hoppy!

A golden colored beer with a big sudsy textured white head rising above. There's some hang time on the head. Light imprints of a film and a moderately robust ringlet are left. In the total profile there is some breaduness, a lot of grassy hops and a sessionable bite from light citric hops. Crisp mouthfeel.

Hoppier than a traditional lager, but definitelt not an IPA.... not sure what I was expecting.... wasn't bad - wasn't great. Clear to lightly hazy pour with a thin white head. Hoppy-grassy aroma. Prefer the Pale Ale.
