An interesting yeasty/berry blend that is obviously blueberry, but not ONLY blueberry. Thicker feel, though the alcohol makes little showing until the beer warms. Better than expected, though still not good enough to justify revisiting at $8 per.

Another shared beer from the Hootenanny After Party Tasting. Dark indigo pour, nearly black, short tight ink blue head, little lacing. Huge fresh blueberry aroma upfront, lightly tart and refreshing, more berries, some blueberry brandy-ish alcohol, light toasted malts, very slight java. Big blueberry flavor upfront also, with a slight booziness, more toasted malts, like blueberry coffee, very nice indeed. This beer was better than I expected it would be - a nice surprise and a pleasure to share.

Bomber bottle: poured a rich dark brown, clear , with an average tan cap. Aromas of berry fruit is pungent but there is a decent undertone of rasty, coffee-cocoa and some fusel alcohol. A tad thin for such a large beer, roasty, choclatey, berrys, light tang form hops - long malty-fruity finish with a bit of roasty snap at the end. A little hot on the palate with the alcohol not being hidden too well. All in all a decent imperial fruit ale, big flavor but a tad hot with booze.

Holy mother! That blueberry aroma is pretty in your face. Good though. Poured a very large foamy brownish head, lots of carbonation, very good lacing. Has a very dark look, almost looks like soda pop. Aromas of...you guessed it...along with raisins/grapes, a tinge of hops, some spices. Wow, very tasty and yummy. Watery but smooth mouthfeel, sort of bitter aftertaste, but not offensive. Flavours are very much blueberry-ish, dark chocolate, grapes, spices. And 9% abv on top of it all, a great fruity beer overall. Damn good!

Dark brown, off white head, smells mostly of lemon I think. Second is fruit/berry syrup, third is seven up, then finally I get the blueberry. A little prickly on the tounge, slight note of british style yeast, light fig and that sort of thing. Some nuts and trailmix, but not really actually, I take that back, but want to remember that sensation.

Wow... A beautiful mix between a Porter and a Scotch ale with the added blueberries. Quite a treat !! Pours a real dark brown colour with a small beige head (because of the high ABV). Aromas of burnt malts with the fruit, well-balancing things. Medium-bodied with a decent smoothness. Cocoa taste with the roasted malts and the blueberries. Great dark beer that is very well-blended with the blueberries. The high alcohol content in this one works better than in their pumpkin one. Works quite well actually.

The beer poured a solid dark brown with a very thin head. Blueberries dominate the aroma, a good way. A little bit of sweet malt and not a lot else. Mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with medium carbonation. Flavour definitely has hints of Scotch Ale in it as there is a definite molasses note, some sweet malt, graininess and a hint of blueberries. By the end of the beer, the alcohol was definitely noticeable in both the aroma and taste.

    22oz bottle -

If blueberries are your thing, this this beer will definitely fill that blueberry craving. Blueberries seem to be that one fruit that harmonizes well with mosts styles that don't involve hops being a showcased item. I really enjoyed this beer and the blueberry aroma/flavor was about as maxed out as it could be without having a mouthfull of fresh blueberries. The flavor carries with it some light dark chocolate and some roasted malt notes too, but the blueberries dominate. It was actually a nice to mix it up a bit to help give a little depth of flavor. A great fruit beer.

Pours surprisingly dark brown. Aroma is a ton of blueberry. Malty, fruit, sweet. Blueberry flavor not nearly as overpowering as the aroma, probably for the best. Good rendition of the style, typically not my favorite.
