Pours clear mahogany with a thin pale buff head that says hello and then splits. Aroma offers quality coffee, roast malt, and - hmmm, is that grassy, or green coffee bean, or mild pepper? Flavor brings out the best of the aroma, quality coffee and roast malt with hints of horehound and vegetable. Mouthfeel presents good body if not much fizz. Happy 108th birthday, Shiner - now you’ve outlasted the Chicago Cubs’ infamous World Series drought!

About what I expected. Was hoping it would be a little thicker, or more like a porter/stout. I’d compare this to a medium or slightly darker brown ale. Denisty on the thin side. Flavors of caramel malt, coffee, light cinnamon. Could use a little more bitterness, but an OK seasonal.

A mahogany brown beer with a big sudsy textured, off white head rising above. It settles fairly quickly leaving no lacing. This is all coffee, light and sessionable in the nose and tasting. Not much more complexity than that
